I received my latest dispatch from Toy Soldiers Paris, with some nice photos of Andy's visit there on December 5, showing the Resistance Fighters. Bravo to everybody for keeping that secret until now. Click here for photos. Fantastic diorama. I'm sure it must be in Fred's collection by now.

Perhaps some of our French speakers can give us a better translation than I can.

Really great photos Brad, especially the FR dio. Love the way "Gestapo Arrest" is incorporated cos that's something like I had envisaged for a FR diorama. Mustn't weaken though, stick to the new collecting strategy Heid - 6 months time I'll review the new collecting strategy though. Maybe by that time a figure will be released that resembles Virginia MacKenna and can be used to represent Violette Stabo

That is a killer diorama. Boy would it be great if Andy would mass produce some of these buildings!!

It really is a beautiful building. Really wish he would make some of those mass sales. Since the French farmhouse was retired, there really are no K & C buildings out there.

would be great to see more buildings like the berlin tenement , but not a fan of the type of building in that picture. It looks good but the building dosen't provide for any additional space for display of figures within the actual building , while taking up considerable space. Advantage of the berlin tenement is that it provides extra space for display of figures thru the two upper levels and the window spaces and doorways.

Think it needs a blast or two from the elefant , then it would be really cool

Hmmm....lets see if I can put the intended restraint into action first Carlos. Can't believe the amount of stuff I ordered up from K&C UK and TF earlier today. And I also have a visit to Hong Kong coming up which I'm intending using to stock up on DAK and SOHK items that I've been considering for some considerable time now. Aaaaiiiieeee, hope it all makes it to the new postal address I'm using in China, cos if it doesn't, then I'll be an extremely pi$$ed off ole H.
As for the French Resistance, this is a range I've been looking forward to for ages cos my mind's been buzzing with ideas for incorporating them into a diorama, but I simply didn't expect them at this time and already have plans for obtaining all the rest of the SOHK stuff that appeals to Me'n'Missus Heid during the first half of 2008 (only the items that we really want though). That's why I'm putting the FR on hold until around June - Ha, just in time for the next Crimean War release from K&C UK. Never ends does it?

I have to say that that is probably one of the best building they have done. I'd love to get my grubby hands on it. If you were attempting to make one yourself, you could always open the roof with some major bomb damage to display a few more figures. I may have to paint one of my Conte foam buildings

I'm still waiting for K&C to produce some kind of evidence that elephant tank destroyers were serving in France - otherwise this diorama simply represents a lot of time and effort spent depicting a historical abberation. Cool fantasy dio though.

Most if not all the second model Elefants served on the Italian Front, after Kursk the surviving vehicles were sent back to Germany and fitted with bow machine guns and commanders cupolas, they were renamed the Elefant and saw action in Italy, a cool diorama but historically inaccurate to be in France.

CS you right, in my knowledge elephant tank was use in Kurks and Italy. I never read something related to France 1944

SOIREE TO CELEBRATE THE END OF 2007 AT TOYSOLDIERS PARIS


First of all, best wishes from me and from all the team of Toysoldiers Paris.

Again this year, the collectors, clients and even the members of the special interest magazines were numerous to celebrate the end of the year and to toast glasses with us to 2007, a year that was loaded with creativity and all kind of novelties.

Andy was again with us this year for the pleasure of everyone and gratified us with a great diorama about World War II.

Indeed, after the figure of Jeanne d'Arc produced at 500 exemplaries last year, France was again honored this year with that group of 8 French resistant fighter preparing an ambush after the capture of one of them (item already available under the number WS091) by the German.

I remind you that, from all the world, few manufacturers dare to produce French soldiers except from the 1st Empire.

Those new characters should be on sale in February 2008 and will come in two boxes of three pieces (DD089 and DD090) and one box of two pieces (DD091).

Note: The prototype of the new German tank "The Elefant" (BBG008) was the main piece of the diorama.

The atmosphere was good and the evening was very warm with more visitors, I think, than last year.

We thank all the individuals who came to chat and have a drink with us, hoping to see you again next year.

Also, thank to Andy who knew how to please us all year long and for his new visit to T.S.P.
