angel of death ...... (1 Viewer)

The gunners who man the weapons are issued with shovels to clear the huge pile of empty ammunition cases as the cannons spew it out.

Mercy...mercy...mercy!!!

I looked at the comments section on the Daily Mail site about this weapon. Not everyone is impressed. I sure am. I looks like something from my teenage revenge fantasies. The video was impressive and I don't want it used on me.

It is an amazing weapon system but the video is showing a flare lanch which is used defensively to divert heat seeking missiles and thus unrelated to the distructive power of the aircraft's howitzer and gatlings.

yeah as ik said itys called the angel of death after thew patterns the flares make not the armanents it carries

Didn't they use 105's like that in Vietnam, and I think even in late WWII against ships.

Yes in part but not exactly. The B-25G and H were armed with a 75mm for shipping interdiction in the Pacific in WWII but carried a limited number of rounds and had difficulty with aiming. The AC-130 Spectre used in Vietnam did carry a 105mm cannon and was precision guided. They have used a variety of supplimental cannons.

Would not have wanted to be anywhere near that area once it opened fire.
