There are two important anniversaries coming soon – Operation Merkur – German airborne invasion of Crete (20 May 1941) and Operation Barbarossa - Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union (22 June 1941). Do you think King and Country is considering these for the May and/or June dispatches?

Not sure about Crete, Andy did some FJ's for this some years back (very nice they are too) but said he wouldn't be returning to them. As for the invasion of the Soviet Union, who knows, but History tells us D Day and the RAF may well be prominent in the next couple of months. Nice pics by the way.

are we not already in the east in all but name??? Berlin defenders who can really only be used in eastern german cities, Jagdtiger, Kursk Tiger 1, Leningrad Tiger 1, FW190 defending the berlin area.

IMO whatever has been said about russians K&C should look do some before other companies do and their figures will be doing battle with the few mentioned above. I know whats been said before but, could one have not been more certain a jagdtiger would not be made and, what do you know ones been made and accepted rather warmly.

With the comprehensive range of theaters K&C produce there must be a reason that they are not making Russian troops, I would think popularity not reaching expectations the reason, but the Russian figs are long since gone so who knows what may come in the future?

I think the first company that produces Russian figures with their hands up, surrendering or being captured (there were over 6 million Russian POW's), will steal a march on the other makers. The perfect figures for all those German vehicles and soldiers to match up with. -- Al

Great idea for surrendering Russians.

I agree with D-Day but i think the RAF has had its fair share lately cant see why not some Barbarossa Grey Germans + Vehicles wouldn't be on the cards,been alot of chatter about Grey lately hopefully someone,s listening..............{sm3}

Some new WWII Russian figures would certainly go great with all of the new "Volksturm" and Eastern Front releases. If they come out I am ready to buy !

One dealer told me that the Russians don't sell good.

When I talked to him and asked this question for the two years (2010 and 2011) when he visited The Sierra Toy soldier in Los Gatos Ca. , He said the same thing. It does not sell well, And pretty much with the PTO. too.
Never say never. But it will not happen in the near future.

I guess also with the current financial climate maybe it's not the time to take a gamble on a range that you are not convinced will sell well, but as Spartan says time will tell.

Well said that man!

Now we may be responsible for drifting this thread, so I will attempt to rectify that.

It's funny that even though a theater may be very popular with Historians and History fans alike it doesn't always translate into TS sales. Imean there must be hundreds of books/films on the Russian and Pacific fronts, but why are TS sales for them sluggish?. I would have thought for instance the Pacific would be huge in the US knowing the pride with which the marines are held over there???
