annoying ebay (1 Viewer)

Has anyone heard of this before
Ihave bought 28 items off of ebay over the last 4 years with my paypal account and email address
But the first item i sold i cant see the money in my paypal account
So i phoned ebay and i found out they sent the payment through my very first email account i had 6 years ago with my first computer
I HAVE ONLY HAD A PAYPAL ACCOUNT WITH MY CURRENT ADDRESS
So the buyer has sent my money into limbo
I CONTACTED PAYPAL AND THEY SAID CONTACT THE BUYER AND GET HIM TO CANCEL THE PAYPAL PAYMENT AND SEND IT THROUGH THE NEW EMAIL ADDRESS
The buyer is not returning my emails and already has the item
Any adivce on what to do next:(

Scott,
Call Paypal on the phone and have them link your accounts to gether, once the emails are linked, you should have access to your money. They can fix this. Also, fix your ebay account so that it links to current paypal address.

Hi mate
I phoned paypal and they said i didnt have another paypal account
Ialso cant remember the password to get on my old email address it was over 6 years ago
Already fixed the link with new email and ebay account
Can the buyer cancel his paypal payment and send it again if i havent been anywhere near it

Yes, just have the buyer cancel the payment, and resend to the correct address. Just a heads up PayPal did some system upgrades last night, Maybe that caused this issue.
 
Scott, sorry I was unclear in what I wrote, I meant to add the old email address to your current account. You can actually try yourself under Profile - Add/Edit email.

If you do that, it may automatically move the payment over.

If not, you have to have the buyer cancel the original payment in their account. Then they have to repay you through the system.

Tried it ,didnt work
The buyer got in contact he doesnt know how to cancel the payment becuase its already came out of his bank account
Any other ideas

All he need to do is cancel the money witch is no

problem as it not been collected your end , at the moment looks like he could be getting a free tank

Scott,

Don't panic just yet as I'm sure the buyer will work with you through this. Unless of course his feedback is next to nothing...if he has some fair feedback then I would count on him coming through and resolving this.

Call Paypal again, they have to be able to fix it as you are the listed owner of both accounts. Ask to speak with a supervisor to get this fixed.

Just off the phone to paypal and someone who speaks English that could understand:rolleyes2:
Sounded so easy
just tell the buyer to click history and cancel and he will get his money back
ebay used my very first email address with no paypal account
will lets you know if i get my money
once again thanks for all the help

SO I HAVE LEARNED MATE
THAT WAS THE EMAIL ADDRESS I OPENED EBAY WITH SEVEN YEARS AGO BUT HAS NO PAYPAL ACCOUNT LINKED TO IT
BUT WHEN I CHANGED MY EMAIL ADDRESS ABOUT 4 OR 5 YEARS AGO AND PUT IT ON EBAY WITH MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT ,WOULD YOU NOT THINK THEY WOULD USE THE EMAIL ADDRESS I HAVE LINKED TO PAYPAL WHEN I HAVE BEEN BUYING THERE HAS BEEN NO BOTHER
SO THE MONEY IS SITTING I DONT KNOW WHERE
i AM AWAITING THE BUYER TO MESSAGE ME TO SEE IF HE CAN CANCEL IT FROM HIS PAYPAL ACCOUNT AND RESEND IT

Surely if the email address has not got a paypal account the money should not have left his account

Hi Scott
All he needs to do is cancel the paypal order sent to your old email address witch is Very easy to do as paypal show your most present transactions in history but maybe its not in his interest to do that :rolleyes2: You can get the buyers phone number and address from eBay and maybe phoning him up will help . If not get him to send it back

Just got everything sorted
Been on the phone for about 2 hours phoneing people
Finally found out i had 2 paypal accounts
The 3 times i had phoned paypal they were looking at my other email address wrong they kept forgetting to put a dot in it when typing it from the screen
