Hi Guys,
Re some of the latest posts and threads…
1. Arnhem Gliders
Anyway you cut it… either in sections/pieces or as a whole model HORSA Gliders ain’t cheap to make… or buy!
Also with any large item… boats… trains… gliders or even rail guns… the “space factor” is an important point to consider. It’s one thing bringing home an extra tank or half-track and the missus “having a canary”… Imagine what she might say if a HORSA Glider with a 3 1/2 foot wingspan just flew in!!!
2. Commercial Viability
I know many collectors hate to really think about how businesses actually operate… However, size does matter, as the actress once said to the bishop. And large projects take up a lot of pre production time (and production time) and in reality, only sell to a relatively small (rich) section of the overall toy soldier/military miniature market. To other competitors out there who want and need to do it… be my guest!
3. “Warbird Money Wasted”
Many thanks to the many collectors who have actually addressed this issue most eloquently. Suffice to say it’s “apples and oranges”. Although they are both aircraft models… the rarer, more expensive bird appeals to one type of collector, the less expensive alternative to another… And I know of some, who like both!
Collecting one does not automatically cancel out the appeal or collectability of the other… or the value!
4. Future Market Garden Releases
Already almost complete… due for release in… I think early 2010.
5. Figure Repair
Congrats and thanks to our pal “OBEE” for his very sensible advice on repair techniques… Gordon uses the same method here in HK.
6. The Real West
According to our friend “ALES” “it’s almost a year and no new products for the real west”.
Well, by my calendar, it’s just 6 months… we launched at the WestCoaster in March this year.
The next add-ons are already sculpted, cast and waiting to be “master-painted”. More details to follow…
Sorry to disappoint you, Kurt, but here at K&C we’re quite pleased with the sales… However maybe you know something we don’t!
And, our reason for doing 1850’s was because we found it interesting, different plus… hardly anyone else had done it!
And that boys and girls is the story so far… Oh well… Back to the salt mines!
Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy C.
