Are the ones driving the DiD Napoleonic bus. They have done 3 figures, so far, 2 Scots and 1 French with plans to do more. DiD is producing them for ML but, they are readily available through most online 1/6 dealers. I have the Black Watch fig. (their 1st Napoleonic) and it is of very high quality. The beard has been the biggest complaint (I guess regulations forbade them except for Pioneers). They may do cavalry figures and the question of horses & saddles has been discussed quite a bit on the 1/6 scale message boards. I'm hoping for a Currassier or Polish Lancer but, I want him mounted.

The two major players, Dragon & DiD each have their strong points. I model primarily WWII so I prefer Dragon. Both companies use scale materials for uniforms. Accessories are usually a combination of plastic, metal, and wood. If your interested in one sixth you can get a lot of info here:

I also have links to other sites through my site:

Ah man! Why didn't you tell us about your site early. I just bought several pieces somewhere else and you have way better prices. I just started collecting the equipment and uniforms but not the figures. I have about ten different helmets and a few uniforms so I can use them as reference when painting plastic or metal figures.

Thanks for the web sites guys they are excellent, I ordered both Napoleonic guys...Bruce and Angus, apparently they are no longer being made? I thought both were very nice......:) Mr. Man is the equipment real leather and are the buckels plastic or metal? I can't wait to get these two figures!!!! Does the uniform stay intact or are they fragile???

I was collecting these 1/6th figures for a year or so before I got into K&C.
I have about 40-50 WW2 figures and excellent they are too but very large to store.

Leather and material is used in the newer figures. It used to be that belts, ammo pouches, straps etc were plastic but things have really improved. I think DID do leather boots for their figures and metal helmets.

Last year Dragon released a great 2 man fallschirmjager mortar team, A DAK despatch rider with Zundapp motorcyle combination and recently they released a flak 38. I have all 3 but nowhere to display them. They just sit in boxes which is a shame really.

The DID Napoleonic figures look excellent. Dragon also released a French Imperial guardsman called Jean a couple of years back but you should still be able to track him down easily enough.

The straps are mostly "pleather" (plastic leather-like substance). The sling on the Brown Bess is leather. Leather is too delicate and breaks too easily in that scale. Angus is a very well done figure. DiD has made some trade offs for the sake of keeping cost down, velcro is used in a couple of places. Here is Angus, side by side with the Cotswold Collectibles Highlander. The Cots fig, is at least 5 years older than the DiD fig and the production methods used today are head & shoulders beyond where there were just that short time ago:

As far as the price being worth the product, I think so but, you may have a much different perspective from me so, my opinion on that matter is subjective and anecdotal at best.

I love these figures but to be honest I don't have the room nor the funds to collect these unless I stop with K&C and that won't happen anytime soon. I have purchased ANGUS and BRUCE, the only other figures I may buy is a British Officer and of course 95TH RIFLES, I really don't want alot of them I have bought a glass display case for the two I just bought, they will be sitting next to my K&C collection as an accent. I just love the Britsh uniforms couldn't turn them down!!!!!!
