Great news about the SE-5. One of my favorite airplanes, it was flown by Mannock, Ball, and, of course, McCudden and 56 Squadron.
Really looking forward to that one.^&grin Interested to see the Culloden and 7 Years War figures, as well. -- Al

QUOTE]

Okay…John was nice enough to make some time to meet and go through this list…I’ll relay his responses here…it's kind of lengthy...so I will relay his responses in sections...

1) 1814...

A) He does intend to make a couple of more sets to fill out the British Artillery crew to man their 3 guns…probably 4 more figures…

B) Seneca Indians are on his agenda for Chippawa…those familiar with this battle know that a large contingent of Indians were present on both opposing sides (Brit/American) in a tree line skirmish…this was the first and only time the Iroquois nation split sides and fought against each other…which they counseled and wept over afterwards vowing to never pit brother against brother again…

C) Yes British officers are in the future…more specifically he mentioned Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Pierson…as a Club figure…who commanded the light infantry and Canadian Militia…which Major General Phineas Riall had dispatched to confront the Americans advancing in the tree line…

D) Horton’s Dragoons…no…not this year…

2) Culloden...

A) British Dragoons…he has the 3 done already…and from my notes…he intends to make several more…either building it up to 6 or 9...sorry…I’m not sure from my scribbled notes…there are pictures posted of some of the prototypes…the riders are re-moveable…so they can be changed from steed to steed…he also had a prototype of William Augustus…The Duke of Cumberland…also known as “The Butcher” for his “no quarter” order on live prisoners…

B) Royal Ecossais…a prototype of a 2 man set was on display and he intends to offer a full regiment…including flag bearer and trumpeter…so these should be forthcoming…

C) Highland or Government artillery…yes…he intends to get to these…but not until he finishes the Dragoons and Royal Ecossais…

D) John…the resins will accompany him to Florida and then on to California for display…sorry…

E) Jacobite Lowlanders…these are on his list to do more of…but he didn’t allow a time frame…perhaps after the Dragoons and Ecossais…

F) Drummers and NCO’s are also on his list…but again…I think he wants to develop the above mentioned before biting off anything else…

G) Irish Piquets…probably not…John mentioned that some of their uniforms were too similar to the British…

Thanks a lot Mike for getting these answers:)

I am very satisfied with his Culloden plans, just a pity about the Irish Picquets, but then again I guess he can't make every single regiment that participated in this battle:tongue:

B.t.w. did he mention anything about another British regiment for Culloden, there have been rumours before?

Niels

Niels...you're welcome...I spent a couple of hours this morning answering every single question on the list in detail with pictures...unfortunately...Treefrog had a server upgrade that they were unaware of and all my post are lost...I will re-do it later today and post it again...I'm sorry for the delay...

Ooh, I just hate when that kind of thing happens - feel for you man {eek3}

Thanks Mike for getting answers to our questions.

I'm glad to hear that JJ will continue with some WW1 armored vehicles and that we will be getting a Spad in the near future!

Glad you were the person asking Mike because I know you enjoy Sudan like me. Not sure if anything new is likely at this point, I counted 24 in the pipeline for the new sculpts of the British enemy, which at current monthly releases, takes care of a whole year. What do think? Cheers, Robin.

Hi Niels. I had a conversation with John about the Culloden regiments, and while he acknowledged that he had requests for additional regiments, he has not made a definite decision to do one or which one it would be if he does. But he did not say no. -- Al

Niels...I will re-do all the posts later tonight...it was about 2 hours of work that disappeared...

Thanks Mike for getting answers to our questions.

Robin...I got a lot of closeups for you that I will post shortly...

I concur...Al is right...John felt some of the uniforms were too similar to the British...

Here's a couple of pictures take by Joe Quintini (theLt)...

so there is no confusion...I'm the very handsome one in the middle...John on the left and Nicholas Cameron...on the right (not to be confused with Steve Buscemi) of Crown Military Miniatures...

Questions for JJ

3) St. Francis

Part III

A) Attack/Retreat figures?
B) Structures…Church?
C) Jesuit Priest?
D) Beaubien Wolf?
E) Small Swivel Guns for wall mount…as in TT-01…Ken…(Fraxinus)?

A) Attack/Retreat figures?
John is getting back into St. Francis this year...you have all probably already seen the prototypes of the Rangers set and Beau Bien...it's my understanding we will start seeing some releases to St. Francis soon...

B) Structures...Church?
John had wanted to do structures in the past...we had talked about a church long ago...but he had not yet found any good historical references to model from...he has uncovered some references from paintings or drawings and said perhaps he will do something...he had mentioned a while back that one of the factories he now uses has the capacity to do larger items (planes/tanks)...that was not available before...so this might happen...

C) Jesuit Priest?
I had asked for one maybe a year or so ago...he told me this was a strong possibility as he has started on but had put it aside...

D) Beaubien Wolf?
I know I have pestered him about this for at least a year...and he told me others were interested...so he had made one way back...but he didn't like the scale on the figure he started...so it was scrapped...

I'm sure you have all seen the new prototype picture and it looks great...

For those that are not familiar with Beaubien...he was not a fictional character...I'm assuming that the Ranger in the prototype sitting with him is William Stark...

The story is...One day while out hunting, William Stark encountered one of these wolf/dogs being beaten by a French officer. Stark fought with the Frenchman and killed him. Stark and the wolf/dog, which he later named Sergeant Beaubien, went on to share many more hunting ventures, as well as years of service together for Rogers Rangers.
At one point throughout their history, Stark entered the wolf/dog into the official Ranger muster roll to draw a Sergeant's rations and pay. It has been said that Sergeant Beaubien scared off his share of the enemy and was well deserving of his pay.

E) Small Swivel Guns for wall mounts?

Ken...John told me that he spoke with you at Jim's Open house and that he thinks he will be able to help you...which I'm sure you already know...I would like some also and perhaps he will include them in a "battle litter" set that I will talk about later...

Questions for JJ

4) Ticonderoga

A) lake boat?
B) artillery crew for TT-01 and TT-02’s small gun…Glenn…(SamwiseII)?
C) cannonball/gunpowder/props for artillery crew…Glenn…(Samwise II)?

A) lake boat?
I don't know who John shared the prototype of his lake boat for Carillion with...however this piece is on hold but not abandoned...John is concerned with it being a "big ticket" item and if he finishes it...it will be sold in seperate sets to allow collectors to fill it to their wallet's capacity...it would make a great Lake George diorama...

B) artillery crew for TT-01 and TT-02’s small gun?
John liked this idea...while he has not started on this yet...he said it would be a nice set and a possibility...

C) cannonball/gunpowder/props for artillery crew?
again...he liked this idea and used the term "battle litter" to perhaps make a set with odds and ends including these items...
