Questions for JJ

6) Snow Shoes

A) Couple more sets maybe?

A) John didn't really appear releived that Snow Shoes was now retired...I almost got the impression that he wanted to do a few more sets...he said if he did anymore...they would be as Club Sets only...so we might still see a few more sets in the future...

How did you like Jersey Mike?
Mark

Mark...

I'm from a really small town...32 miles long and 2 miles wide...even with GPS...we had some trouble navigating on the highways in NJ...lots of loops and dark unlit stretches...

the thing that really surprised me was that there was such a lack of residential properties and so much commercial and industrial factory properties...

the taxi fares were unreal...as a pack of cigarettes was $10.00..

.but the people I encountered were the nicest ever...

we found a restaurant called "Gotham City" and had a really nice time there...twice...when we asked them to call us a taxi...they actually had their delivery guy drive us back to the hotel...

I just didn't like the cold weather...and it wasn't really that cold...too cold for me...

I really think John is anxious to please his collectors...I think he is very receptive to ideas from collectors too...I have never seen his list...but I bet it's long...I will be patient and I will remind him from time to time if I really want something...I think he's open to any ideas that we suggest...I got the feeling he is going to get back into the FIW quite a bit more than he has been lately...I hope so anyway...

Mike, Thanks for posting all the great info.

Was there any word on what if any French troops John plans to make for manning
the defensive works for Ft. Carrillon/Ticonderoga? - Thanks

Mike: Thanks for allowing TFers to ask questions of John through you; very considerate of you. John is a very personable, patient fella; he seems to enjoy chatting with collectors and is very open to suggestions as you've said. I attended an open house at Troops of Time (Tim Tyler's shop in Jacksonville, FL) and was thrilled with the interaction that I had with John as so it appeared with everyone else in attendance.

BTW, I received the TIC set from you the other day; arrived safe and sound. Thanks!

I hope he does some French dead and wounded.
Mark

that's a good idea Mark...wish I had asked that...

I didn't ask...I had always assumed it was the regiment de Languedoc...but I think he once said he was thinking of doing the regiment that began with a "B"...but couldn't remember if it was Berry or Bearn...

he really is a nice guy...very concerned about his collectors...he really made an effort for us to finally meet in a quiet environment for questions...I would have left disappointed if we had not spent some time together..

glad the set arrived...hope you enjoy it...

Hey Mike,

As an afterthought, did John express any thoughts to producing Black Watch climbing over the defense walls for Carillon/Ticonderoga? Hand to hand sets would be sweet. Also Highlanders throwing their muskets down & attacking w/ their
large swords.

Hi Mike,
When you spoke to John did he say anything about more crew members for the 1814 British artillery?
Any talk about any gun limber crew or someone to tend those lonely horses?:)
Sorry if you have already answered this but I can't see an answer anywhere.
Cheers
