Yep, my collecting has been slowing down once again after a slight pick-up in the past 6 months... Prices are getting a little high and space is getting a little low... Only commiting to Britains Zulu series (i.e. Rorke's Drift only) and the odd figure/set from particular ranges of K&C, FL and John Jenkins... :(

Well,

I wouldnt say slowing down but rather being a lot more selective. I have a fairly large number of due out Britains that I really want and of course there are other makers out there who keep making sets I am interested in so its always a battle to remain on track with my want list. I have decided to focus on two series only for this year, Battle of the Nile and of course the Durbar so I should be in pretty good shape but I know there are some surprises coming down the pike from the Collectors Club that will make me detour like the 95th Rifles Officer they made last year. But that is the nature of the beast isnt it. I guess the best thing to do is to make a list of the sets you want and do your best to peck away at it and not break the bank. Of course we all know thats far easier said than done.

Definitely slowed way down when compared to 2-3 years ago. You can count the number of cash purchases in the last 12 months on one hand. If it weren't for trades, my collecting would be at a standstill. Also got a severe room problem and have reached the point of maybe having to clear out some less favored pieces if I am to add anything. I don't store stuff. The TS are out on display. -- Al

I've slowed a bit. Having to pay tuition for the kids' school, display space filling to the brim, and the limited availability of the out of production items I have been pursuing are all factors.

So when you do start the fund raising program for the next museum expansion?:D Michael

I've slowed down also.Nothing really grabs me which is funny as there are more and better products out there then ever before.H ave a few figure kits to get painted and I want to get that done. Also have to watch the finances more now then 3-4 years ago.

I tried to stop. I offered my collection to several historical societies and colleges who all wanted an endowment to go with the donation of my collection. My kids don't have the room or the desire. So I started collecting again to enjoy my passion. They can deal with it after I am gone with instructions of course.
