The Horror channel has just started showing 'Hammer House of Horror ' tv series again, must be way back from the 80's I guess . Just watching an episode starring Diana Dors about a couple who after a car crash stumble upon a remote house that is of course home to a family of Werewolves. The couple make it home but the husband is unaware his wife is now a Werewolf and has developed an appreciation of raw steak!^&grin

Its a little bit ' Hammy' (pardon the pun) but still a little creepy, an enjoyable glimpse back to the world of Hammer Horror

Superb series both of them Mitch, HHOH just ended with Christopher Casenove getting done by a Werewolf with an axe!

Tales of the Unexpected was another classic, creepy music and creepy stories.

"They asked me to change my name. I suppose they were afraid that if my real name Diana Fluck was in lights and one of the lights blew" ...

Diana Dors.

Hammer Films is where I first heard of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. When I saw "Star Wars", with Cushing as Governor Tarkin, it was a revelation to me, to see him in something other than a horror movie.

Prost!

I always liked Vincent Price horror films like house of wax and theatre of blood

Captain Kronos, Vampire Hunter. With the beautiful Caroline Munro (Lamb's Navy Rum ads and Sinbad babe)

Although something tells me that a member of this forum may already be a fan!^&grin

Agreed and I wouldn't have Martine Beswick "driven from the village" either.

Martine Beswick was in two James Bond movies---FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (one of the battling Gypsy girls) and an MI6 agent in THUNDERBALL.

Ingrid Pitt was in WHERE EAGLES DARE directed by Brian Hutton and starring Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. Pitt was supposed to reunite with Hutton and Eastwood in KELLY'S HEROES, but she as she was getting ready to filming, she was told her part had been cut.

British films, especially the Hammer horror films starred some very memorable beauties. I never thought the Hammer films were "low-rent" like some American horror/sci-fi film companies. I thought, "it's British, it must be classy."

I watched a couple of Hammer movies with the commentaries on that explained how they re-purposed sets to use in various films, built a full sized Spanish Galleon for a pirate movie, and had a stable of character actors like scene stealer Michael Ripper who I've spotted several times.
