About a year ago there was some exitement on this forum when the British
LCA was launched. Why aren't there any threads about the new American
LCVP? I can't believe that I'm the only forum member who bought this great
item!!

Nothing wrong with them at all, they look superb and I will be getting one as it's high on my D Day list, it's just I have had other things to buy first. So much choice these days!

Nothing wrong with these guys at all, Humbug.
I was so desperate for a Higgins boat that I ended up getting the Conte version, on ebay, last year after the English ones were released.
I now have the 2 American landing craft and I love them. I'm just hanging out for whatever the hell that was in the picture, posted a while back, showing the rangers at a dock with a landing craft carrying a Sherman!!!
I also wish I had something else to put on the beach at Omaha, besides vulnerable troops.

I know,............I have to go back and get the FW 190, and maybe.........:)

I just think that the initial horay for releasing them brit or otherwise has subsided and, although they are great looking pieces so much has been poured out that many are probably concentrating on other things

I bought it and think it is terrific. I also had bought the Conte version which I may sell now. Also have the LCA. I am having a hard time deciding whether to have the Rangers exiting the LCA or LCVP. They look better coming out of the larger doors on the LCVP.

Hi Guys,

Re the above question… I think what occasionally happens on the Forum is that a few new items (like the latest LCVP) sometimes get “buried” under “temporary avalanches” about “How many are enough?” or “My Fw190 is better than your Fw190!”

At the end of the day it’s your forum not K&C’s (or anyone else’s). So you talk about what you want to talk about.

As it happens the two LCVP’s are, in my humble opinion, two of the finest craft K&C has ever produced… If you’re into D. Day and you like ‘em… grab ‘em… they won’t be around forever!

Best wishes and happy landings…
Andy C.

You're absolutely right!!
So, maybe you're spoiling us too much!!!:D:D:D

I think this forum is like the world at large: headlines sometimes tend to be about what is wrong more than what is right.

As nobody has complained about them I do not think that is the case. There has just been so much stuff that has been released in the last couple of months of significance Tilly, bedford in a limited run another SL and several very good AK additions just to name a few I think, its K&C who have produced the avalanche as collectors et al have been focusing on those items rather than the storm in a tea cup issues which, have had little to do with LCVP's.

Post some pics of yours and I am sure that many will comment and discuss them.
Mitch

These look GREAT in the photos. The only thing "wrong" is that I don't have the money and space to get several :) I am really enamored of K&C's quay side scene showing the troops embarking for Operation Neptune. These LCVPs have a lot of diorama possibilities for Europe, the Med, and the Pacific. As we went over in one of the LCA threads, the LCVP and LCA were BOTH used to carry US troops to Omaha Beach, so one can show several types of landing boat along with the K&C DUKW amphibious truck.

Just some minor 'mistakes' ; no exhaust at the rear and the steering wheel
should have three spokes. Also no anchor and fire extinguisher!!

The LCVP is really great from what I can tell. How can you have a D-Day collection and not have one? Its such an iconic piece, definitely near the top of my list to pick up.....and I will have one very soon. My favourite number is 22 so I'll get that one! :D It'll be nice one day to have the choice between U.S. troopers standing/walking around and boarding the LCVP or some U.S. troopers in action running out of it. I'm sure that will happen very soon. I'm also very much looking forward to that even larger version that was transporting a tank at last years Chicago show diorama. It must be coming out soon.

Gary: is there anything MAJOR on this piece that would have to be changed from european to pacific versions?.............Stryker

Picked up one of these Higgins in Chicago. What a great piece. If anyone is on the fence about this piece I highly recommend it.
