Crusading soldiers are protected from Saracen arrows and crossbow bolts by their archer's mantlets.

Cant wait top see the finished display looks awesome so far.Where did you get the Mantlets from?
 
The mantlets actually come as highly detailed individual model kits. The parts are molded in yellow plastic. They must be glued together and then painted to look like wood. The model kits are made by a company called "Armand Bayardi". They come one mantlet to a kit and are kit no. MEA/103. I got them through Michigan Toy Soldier Company.
 
Here's another view of one of the archer's mantlets, with a few custom made arrows sticking in it.

George...those mantlets are really nice...they look good and seem pretty simple...I think I will make some...thanks for the ideas....great work on your conversions and set up...:cool::cool::cool:
