Are Thomas Gunn's newer figures smaller and same size as First Legion figures? (1 Viewer)

Sorry I forgot to properly address the concern in my previous email about the sudden and unexpected reduction in the figures size.
Yes I do agree that an announcement would of been good to the effect that these figures were of a smaller scale and if it was just for this range and if a permanent feature for those already collecting them as opening a new purchase and finding new figures of a totally different size would be very annoying to say the least especially if having been collecting for some time.
I know this myself having been annoyed with the older Ertl Britian's being wildly different sizes in the same range.

The new KGL are the same size as our Prussians and have sold very well so far since their release, so we will stick with this scale size from now on for Napoleonic's.

Thanks, that's great news for me and I'm sure a lot of other collectors who have been waiting to find out.
I'd already taken the chance on one KGL figure to begin with and can look forward to purchasing many more !
Cheers

No change in scale planned on this series.

Thank you Vicki for the response. I am glad to see that TG WWII figures will remain compatable in size with TCS and K&C figures. The shifting in figure size by a variety of Toy Soldier companies is very confusing and difficult to keep track of!

The KGL figure standing firing I ordered arrived and on comparing the figure with the last two similar pose Britain's 95th Riflemen figures standing firing No.1 & No.2, in height they fit very well and nicely painted.
The Shako is a couple of millimetres higher (though on Britain's No. 1 standing firing the whole figure including the Shako, I've always thought of as quite a lean design) and the Rifle slightly longer than on the Britain's figures, but all in all I am pleased with the figure and will definitely buy some others.
Hope this helps others with decisions.

I would say this photo is indisputable as regards a TG scale change for Naps. The FSJs seem to be the same scale old and new. I guess TG will have to explain why one line is changing scale and if other lines will change in future? W. Britains changed from 54 to 58-60mm and did not bother to advise their customers. Thje change seems to have started in 2009 with the Osprey Art series. The
25005 FSJ measures 60mm top of base to top of head. A perfect match with First Legion figures. Also perfect with the Figarti Panther G. I hope TG advertises and identifies the new size on the box as Figarti did when it changed from 1/32 to 1/30!

Just catching up on some older threads. If new TGM Nap figures are shrinking, I wonder how long before it happens to their WWII range. Although it may not be a popular move for everyone it would make commercial sense long term as new smaller WWII figures would be a better match for their vehicles that tend to be on the small size.

What about the new Romans? Does anyone have any pictures of FL Glory of Rome Imperial Romans with some of the newer TGM Romans?

I really like the repelling cavalry sets and may want to pick a few up.

IMO, they match up pretty good together. I like the new sets as well but I will be changing the color of the trousers from blue to the color of the original release. I'll try to post a pic or two later if someone has not already.
