ooooh Steve...
that scene you created...
that touched me...
those figures...
you told a story with that caption...
your best ever!!!
Steve, with all due respect, as a person who lost family in the Holocaust, I’m not sure that’s a scene we need to see recreated.
Hey Steve, ya' its been a good while since I've contributed here. Life has kept me too busy.
Hopefully, this summer will offer me a chance to get back to one of life's little pleasures ... TOY SOLDERS!!
Your scene is (as always) extremely well designed and constructed. It delivers a very strong and clear message of the human cruelty caused by the Germans during the war.
You DID NOT approach insensitivity, but maybe it was somewhat uncomfortable for some (or many) to view. I hope that most folks will understand the great intentions and emotions that you consistently build into your displays (Like the Crucifixion of Jesus a while back) and see it as you obviously intended.
Best Steve,
Long Lost LaRRy
Seems odd to me that Nazi pomp and ceremony is fine, but the evil of genocide must be censored and not allowed the light of day, is wrong to my way of thinking.
But as another forum member feels offended on family grounds which was not my intention to offend I have requested it be removed, which seems a pity in that the attraction of the political goals and racial policies of Nazi Germany is not questioned.
I should probably take more time take in considerating all sides on any future dioramic stories I think to share with the forum.
Again scene was meant to make people think of the suffering of the people involved at the time and apologise to anyone who took it as an insult.

Steve...
really sorry you are asking to have this display removed...
but very courteous of you...
I hope you don't feel you have to sell those displaced refugee figures because they offended someone...
again...
I have seen those figures displayed on here by several collectors for years...
they are what they what the manufacturer intended them to be...
displaced refugees from WWII...
Steve,
I have never found LAH acceptable but let’s not go down that road again.
I didn’t say I was offended. I merely said I didn’t think it was the best subject matter.
I wouldn’t have it removed and I’d ask you to rescind the request. It’s a credit to your skills that you made a scene that evoked some comments.
Steve, you have nothing to apologise for IMO. Its clear you meant no malice or ill intent and I for one would prefer your display remained.
Most people have lost family unfortunately conflict such as war zones and these days terrorism, and this is sad for many. My parents lost theirs in Greece when the Germans wiped out villages in retaliation for partisan attacks, however
there is no need I believe to restrict depiction of no violent graphic displays, as this was history and that is what we should not forget, hiding it is the problem not depicting what had occurred and the hope history does not repeat itself.
Even in earlier history within the US I see persons complaining about the confederate flag and toy soldiers for sale on ebay at times have the flag obscured, that is taking things to far.
Images such as this should be used to teach future generations so atrocities like this do not happen again.
Do/will future generations even care?
Serious question.
With all the liberal teachers in schools, colleges and universities, I can only imagine what they are telling kids these days; in high school, they spend what, 10 minutes teaching the ACW and 15 minutes on WWII?
I can only imagine what this country will be like in 10 or 20 years.
It's both disturbing and sickening.

I think you are correct in assumption here George, a relative through marriage who was born in the 1980s created a post ranting about lockdowns & the pandemic and underneath posted a photograph of Auschwitz........I had to unfollow here, I just can't even with that kind of mentality, I was so angry.
