I would say that I am even though I bought some Patriot Napoleonics last year. So, I don't think falling off the wagon once counts.

I wouldn't call myself a purist, which I'm assuming means, that all of my purchases are King and Country. I have some Honour Bound, Figarti, Beau Geste and a couple of Trophy sets but well over 90% percent of my collection is King and Country.

I do the exact same thing Brad, how can you only collect one manufacturer? That puts all kind of limits on your collection. IF I like it I collect it :D

I know this will come as a surprize to some Members of the Forum - but, I actually do own other brands in my collection (Conte, Britians, NMA, JJ Designs and Frontline)

However, KING AND COUNTRY - is my favorite ! :D

Although .... That V-2 Rocket from Figurti .... is looking really nice ;)

I don't have any K&C but after seeing Harry's Oriental collection that may well change :D

Currently I only collect one manufacturer Wm Britains (although I will collect anything they made not just a specific era) Over 100 years of manufacturing so there is lots to collect :D

That's the way I see it too Gustav. Why limit yourself to just one manufacturer.? That would be just plain daft IMO. Cutting off your nose to spite your face and all that.
Cheers

The vast majority of my collection is K&C, because Andy and Gordon are my favorite toy soldier "artists", but there are many wonderful items from other producers such as Trophy, Figarti and Honour Bound on display as well.

I own a little of everything. I also mix things up. I still have the first diaorama that I ever made, with the entire William Britain "Big Red One" soldier collection along side a weathered, beaten up FOV Sherman. Although I don't collect much WB anymore, I could never give that collection up. I like Figarti as well, and recently took their African American WW-2 soldier set and made a 761st tank battalion scene with a FOV Stuart that I detailed myself. I also used some K&C "Battle Of The Bulge", figures and placed them with the Honour Bound Sherman for an Ardennes diorama. The K&C oasis well looks great with the Figarti M3 Honey's and their tank crews. especially the guy who is drinking water. Placing him by the well is picture perfect. So i could never be a total purist.

Me too Damian, especially now Andy is improving even more, but I have bought NMA and HB as they make different things.

Would have bought the NMA marders for example and am now looking hard at collectors showcase for this reason. Also haven't yet bought Patriot (nebelwefer) or Figarti but Clive's Figarti stall at the last London show knocked my socks off.

I used to just buy KC, now not so sure, but still my 'prefered brand' by far. Has been 100% of what I have bought this year.

Their is no dought they make super figures and Run a very profesional buisness,I even had a double take today, when my wife said she would collect the crusades. But if someone else makes a quality item then it deserves attention.
So i,ll say No they are not the only game in town and the hobby
would be pretty sad if only one company was making great figures
no matter who.

I agree with Kevin and Damian here.Although i have three vehicles from other companies, in my humble opinion K&C are easily my faveourite and easily the best. The quality and realism sets the standard for me.Its always good to have an open mind and keep an eye on other product's on the market,Figarti's V weapons for instance, but i am a dyed in the wool K&C Fan.Roll on dispatches!!;):)

Rob,how lucky you are to have a wife who wants the Crusades!.Keep hold of her mate!!;):D

You are right their Rob , But I have a sneaky suspicion her
Idea of a collection may be slightly smaller than mine :).
Any women who puts up with a man who collects toy soldiers
Deserves a commendation .In all fairness although she has very
little interest in this polava ,She can still spot quality and points
out if she doesn’t think its up to scratch.[luckily that doesnt include
me yet ]

I agree Rob,they all deserve a medal for being understanding and supportive. And every now and again they can really shock you.I remember my wife pointing to one of my Tanks and saying thats the Matilda isn't it,yes love it is i said."Thats the Tank that was very good until the Germans started using their anti aircraft gun as an anti tank gun"!:eek:

My work is done:D;)

I only collect K&C, three ranges and I don't feel that I have limited myself to choice or have removed any body parts, because it's what I want to collect at this time. I have collected and painted all sorts of figures over the years, but at the moment it's K&C.

As for me King & Country my favorite and the best, but 10% of my collection is from others.

Reading all these - I had a funny conversation last night. My wonderful wife came up to me while I was readinng the Forum and asked "Whats Up With The Boys?" - I told her about this particular thread.

She LAUGHED - and said "honey - who are you kidding? YOU ARE A KING AND COUNTRY MANIAC !!

I said wait a minute - have others producers in my collection - I am well rounded.

More Laughter......"Yes dear, you do have other peoples things - but, all you talk about, all you want for Christmas and Birthdays, all you look for when we go out is KING AND COUNTRY - face it your addicted !"

Suddenly, I had to admit  - I AM A KING AND COUNTRY ADDICT. :)

.......AND I AM PROUD !! :p

I Was Big On Gloss Before Kc Came Along. Trophy Was My Main Line But With Them Gone Kc Has Taken The Lead. Little Legion Makes Nice Gloss Figures But They Are Almost Too Glossy As Compared With Trophy. Kc Is About A Third Of My Collection But Will Continue To Grow As The Others Do Not Make Glossy Figures Anymore[trophy And Frontline]. I Know Everybody Loves The Wwii Of Course But Some Of The Other Lines Look Interesting. For Example The Alamo, If I Knew That Andy Would Definitely Make All The Defenders, I Being One Of Those Completist Would Love It. How About Anyone Else?

While I love most of K&C , I own a ton of Britains, Conte, NMA, Steadfast, Fusiler, Tommy Atkins, Alymer, Britains (listed twice due to the amount), Tradition, Ducal, Reeves, and of course Trophy. I am sure I missed some, but I buy anything I like. For me, collecting is variety and I especially like Elephants, Camels, etc. K&C doesn't make everything....yet!
