Very rainy morning here in South Central Wisconsin. Good time to give my collection a little bit of attention. Received some Hudson & Allen "Scenics To Go" diorama bases last week and this is my first chance to use them. Pictured here is some of my JJD 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment marching "through South Carolina" 😉

Great set up you've done there Mike.

JJD has done a great job on the African American features on these figures, Conte did excellent ones too.

Though WB have done many Zulu figures they haven't really caught the African facial features as well as the ones previously mentioned in a similar way TG's earlier WW2 Japanese didn't look oriental their new sculpts have captured it very well.

Thank you Steve for your kind comments. John Jenkins new ACW range and the releases so far as well as the planned releases has renewed my interest in this period of history. I am currently planning a 3-foot x 6-foot diorama of the Battle of 1st Bull Run show casing the area of the Sudley-Manassas Road between Bald Hill & Spring (Henry) Hill where Union elements of the 11th NY, 1st MN, and the 14th Brooklyn confronted Confederate elements of the 4th VA, 33rd VA, and the 1st VA Cav.

That sounds like a good set-up. - Would the Washington Artillery of New Orleans fit in?
Was thinking that might be a good CSA unit for John to produce.

The Washington Artillery of New Orleans consisted of 13 various guns which were all placed at various fords along Bull Run. They were not engaged at the action along the Sudley-Manassas Road which I am planning.
 
I believe John will produce a number of regiments on both sides of the battle (Bull Run) along with artillery and cavalry.
We saw several of the Union Regiments in his preview last week and I think we will see some Confederate regiments previewed
shortly.
Maybe in the future John can make some civilian spectators who traveled with the Federal army from Washington. Some Horse
and Buggies along with mounted civilians would make a remarkable diorama!

The "First Bull Run" series will go well into next year. I think John's plan is to release different
engagements from the battle as a range within a range. This way you can get both sides
of the conflict and decide which regiments you want or of course go for the whole battle.
There will be artillery and cavalry (Jeb Stuart) and I asked if JJD could produce some
civilian spectators in horse and buggies who tagged along to watch the battle and picnic.
I think the 11th is coming first and a Confederate regiment will be announced soon as well.
I have already committed to a diorama for the George Washington University Library and Museum.
I look forward to the 14th and 39th as well.
