Assyrians just released and they look mighty impressive. On my wish list. Just started on late Romans and as much of the big sale stuff I can afford as this comes to an end. But once the Roman's are complete then these will be next in line. I am keen on ancients and undoubtedly my favourite era to collect. I hope this range expands to include fighting Egyptians, Hittites, Sea Peoples and maybe Canaanites. But I suppose will depend on sales of Assyrians. I am just happy we got these.

On the Big Sale I have over the course of the sale picked up the 13 Ottomans (so colourful), Pavia figures (including cannon and crew), Agincourt English archers, Seven Years War Russian artillery, Macedonian infantry, AWI American infantry and mounted Saracens but there is so much more I would love to have if only funds were endless. Who in their right mind would not pick up WW1 French infantry for around $23 if that's your era of collecting or those Napoleonic era Austrians. Its a bl**dy steal.

Anyway well done to FL, your recent releases and sale have been most welcomed by a half Brit/Kiwi living in a remote corner of Dartmoor, south west England.

Gary

The early Seven Years War figures, especially the Prussians, are also quite a bargain. It’s hard to get this kind of quality in a mounted figure for that price. I didn’t particularly like the Russians (I didn’t think the sculpting was as good as the Prussians) but they are also quite inexpensive.

This is the kind of figure that motivates people to do research on a period they normally wouldn't think about on a normal day. That my friends is at another level an one of the main reasons I'm a First Legion fan and collector. With some manufactures starting to let's be nice and say emulate First Legions style they just continue to rase the bar.

As a range, the Assyrians don’t really interest me but if some Israelites are made I might change my mind. At any rate, this is a fantastic looking figure as a stand alone, which I may add.

I am with you Gary. I really like the Assyrian but will ignore them. But if FL made some Isrealites i would delve into a few quality figures

I personally would love to see what they could do with the Egyptian Army, can only imagine what a First Legion chariot would look like.

I don't collect this period but have been a fan of the look of their Army and Artifacts since seeing the King Tut traveling exhibit at the MET and in DC back in the 70's. I definitely had Tut fever. That really made an impression, anyway if that do Egyptians I would definitely be picking up a few pieces. I just don't think I could resist. :redface2:

The detail in the Assyrians is amazing!
I hope we get some pieces in the future to do a nice diorama of Sodom and Gomorrah. ;)

I have also picked up a lot of new pieces during the big sale. I’ve added a lot of naps to my collection.

I was able to see the FL Assyrians at the West coast show this weekend. Hobby Bunker had most of the range on display, and they are fantastic figures. I plan on picking some of these up like the two figure set behind a siege shield and the commander. I was hoping to see the king on throne but he had been sold.

I did manage to get an example of the Assyrian King.
a very very surprising figure! First Legion really did these well!

I won't collect a lot of this period in history, but this figure is exceptional, and I have to add "exceptional"
to my collection.

Glad you like the figure, it is pretty cool. But i have to ask - what the hell are giant horse legs in the background! PICS PLEASE.
I wanted to say those were the bronze flying horses at the entrance to Nimrud.

But in truth is only the stag bookends on the shelf.
