Well I have added this one to my schedule this year!

Friday February 21st 5pm - 9pm
Saturday February 22nd 9am - 5pm

I will not be there on Sunday as I have to fly home to prep for my next travels later that week!

I'll post photos after so you can all see what this event has to offer.

It is on a golf course ;)
But I have a golf trip scheduled for Feb 26th already! So next year might be a 2 for 1 travel weekend!

As an Atlanta resident/native and golfer, I appreciate your enthusiasm. But this is Atlanta, not Miami. In late February we are still in winter mode. While it is possible that it might be warm enough to play a chilly round in late Feb, it is fairly unlikely. Last few days it has been in the teens in the morning and barely above freezing in the warmest part of the day. While I realize that may be toasty warm by Minnesota standards its not really golf weather.
Note: I lived in Minneapolis for a few years.

With the weird weather across the board, you never know what you are going to run into!
Last year's February golf trip was just about same temps in MN as in TX. But was still fun and our travel group had a good time.
It's more about getting away to hang out and have fun than anything.

Very true. Group golf trips are loads of fun. My father and wife are attempting to golf with friends in Palm Springs right now!

One weather phenomenon that folks from up your way tend to overlook is the cold, but not quite freezing, rainy stuff we get down here — a lot more often than snow. It’s a buzz kill for outdoor activities. But there are tons of indoor alternatives, such as the College football hall of fame, aquarium, Coke museum, restaurants aplenty, and more.

Was a fast, busy and tiring weekend, but worth it!
Created my Album on SmugMug and met a number of new people this weekend. Educated a few on a Doug Dearth print they were selling....
Looking forward to next year and maybe having a bit more time to spend!

A few of my favorites:

Peter Culos (met him, VERY nice guy!)

This one you pushed a button to turn on the light and make it glow!

The use of "light source" on this one was WOW in person! How the light was painted and creation of the shadows....

Here is it further away and from a different angle.

Gotta say though....photos don't do these justice! You really need to hit up one of these events in person to get the full scope!

Enjoy the photos!

A few fun ones as usual as I like to share the various aspects of my trips and people I meet!

You covered the show really well with all the photos and videos Julie. Looked like you were having a good time at the event as well. Robin.

Those dioramas and figures are incredible. So detailed and lifelike.

Robin,

If I'm having fun, then it seems those around me also have a bit more fun! Just spreading some smiles. And it always makes the days fly by even if I'm running on only a few hours of sleep and exhausted!
Which is why I roll in with two LARGE coffees in the AM...hot for the morning, iced for the afternoon! ☕

Thanks Julie for all the great photos and video's. I have attended this show a few times and the talent of the modeler's and painters is something you have to see in person to appreciate. The amount of detail that goes into most pieces, true artwork. Lots of goodies for sale there in the second hand market I see. Was Tim Tyler there of Troops of Time?

No Tim Tyler! I am filling in that part of the Vendor area of the show now. Tim is starting to enjoy some more free time with his lovely wife!
