This is early days for my diorama on native indians attacking a collonial settlement. I hope to display some self built cabins, fortified fences defended by the settlers and a water scene with a canoe. The trees in front of the background are branches cut from a bush and the fence is made from twigs. I'm looking forward to creating the scene. Regards Greg.

Looking good Gregory always admire your attention to small details, and natural is the way to go looking forward to this one's progress.

Hi Greg,

Looks wonderful so far.

I am a huge fan of "do-it-yourself" where possible. It is a lot of fun, and as commented earlier, a good $$$ saver.

One of the forum members (An Aussie gent named Desert Kiwi or Toddy) posted a thread on building his own log cabin.
I came out really wonderful as I recall. Hunt that one up as he gave a very good tutorial.

[EDIT:] Just found it --> https://forum.treefrogtreasures.com/showthread.php?63234-Building-a-Model-Log-Cabin

As others, looking forward to seeing your masterful work … ^&grin

Re: Attack on colonial settlement

Thanks Wayne and Larry for those comments and the other gents for the interest. That information that you provided Larry was very useful and I had a look at that thread. I will use some of those ideas in my cabins I don't know whether Toddy will appreciate you calling him Aussie though. He is a proud Kiwi and a very nice chap and will probably forgive you. Regards Greg.

OOPS! :redface2: Darn! {sm2}

Well ... you all use strange words like "Gobsmacked" and "Barbie" (That's a girls doll in the US:p) and "Brekky" and "Cobber" {sm4} ^&grin
Crikey, it takes me 15 minutes to read your posts!!

It's coming along nicely! What figures are you going to use to populate the Colonial settler side?

Brendan

Re: Attack on colonial settlement

Hello Brendan, the figures I will be using will be JJD Drums on the Mohawk and Raid on St Francis figures. Nearly finished the first cabin and i'm pleased how it is turning out. More photos soon. Regards Greg.

A couple more photos of progress. The cabin is built out of ply and dowel with wood chips for the roof shingles. Another building will be built and more fencing will be placed at the front. The water is to be done and more figures and detailing to be placed. Regards Greg.

Enjoying seeing the wonderful progress you are making. The cabin is turning out very nice, as is the stockade.
Glad to see the "Girls with Guns" in there, as the current ..Indian VS Colonial settlers .. is a bit lop sided! .. :redface2:

Looking forward to more of your work.

Great western early American scene. Could have taken place in my new home state of Kentucky. Chris

That's a great fortress area, I reckon they can hold off any attack from here. Well presented Greg, Robin.
