Full name Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, known as Louis-Napoleon. 1808–73, Emperor of the French (1852–70); nephew of Napoleon I. He led two abortive Bonapartist risings (1836; 1840) and was elected president of the Second Republic (1848), establishing the Second Empire in 1852. Originally successful in foreign affairs, he was deposed after the disastrous Franco-Prussian War.

The infantry uniform was largely a product of the French experience in Algeria, which saw the introduction of the kepi and the habitual wearing of the greatcoat as the only upper garment on campaign. The uniform depicted here was the latest of a series of successive modifications introduced on 2 December 1867. The greatcoat (model 1867) was woven of 90 per cent blue and ten per cent white wool. Red trousers had been worn since 1829, although those shown here were the product of the 1867 regulations which replaced the elegant but impractical chasseur type worn since i860. The habit of tucking the trousers inside the gaiters was also a habit acquired in Algeria. The kepi (model 1867) was universally liked as both practical and comfortable, although numerous modifications were made to the dimensions and the shape of the peak.

Excellent looking figures!
Very impressed with Team's timely rollout of this series with more to come.
Its great to have both sides of a conflict available within months of each other.

Great news, here is my favorite part; "We will be announcing more new works on the Franco-Prussian War in the coming days."...............awesome, sounds good to me.............

Nice to have a steady addition of figures for a line! Always something upcoming :)

So. Again no finials /or eagle on the standards?

All the previous posted artworks shows Prussian and French colours adorned. The Italian standard has a finial and the French Imperial Guard in the Napoleonic range has an eagle so they obviously have the ability to cast these items.

Any thoughts from the collective?

maybe it broke off or was shot off during a battle or field exercise......

from what I have seen in pictures, and from First Legion, the flags should have an eagle or a finial, tricolour streamers and embroidery on the flag.

Maybe this is a prototype shown???

I agree, the flag as shown is totally inadequate. Hopefully changes are made before its released, or I'll not be getting that one.

I spoke with my sales rep at Team Miniatures; they are going to add the eagle to the flagpole, so you are good to go.

That's great.
I actually love these figures. but was curious why the flag poles had changed since the Italian standard bearer images had been released.

I have the Prussians on pre order and now I will be ordering the French infantry as the finances allow starting with the Zouaves.

Regards to all

Team has really surprised me for a relatively young company. Great quality, packaging and responsiveness.
I have purchased the three FPW releases so far and they are excellent figures. This is a very well done series
and hopefully a lot more will be forthcoming.
The French flag bearer really looks good and thanks to our members pointing out the missing "eagle" which
Team corrected.

That's fantastic. - What an improvement on the flag.
Very happy with Team Miniatures FPW figures, their quality is excellent. - Hope to see to more additions to this series.

Can't ask for more then that, hats off to TM. A company who wants to offer the best product to its customers that it can and isn't above listening to constructive criticism.

What more could we ask for, class act IMO.

Couldn't resist these FPW figures so I purchased my first new figures in quite a while. I got F6010, the superb flag bearer, and F6005, the wounded advancing infantryman. Both these figures are outstanding, with animation, paint finish, and accuracy equal to anything on the market. I am VERY pleased with them and will be getting more of them. There was really no way I could pass on these figures as they are in my favorite uniforms of all time, representing a war, that until recently, had been underrepresented by manufacturers. TM has done a fine job on these at a good price. -- Al

My Napoleon III and French Line Infantry arrived today, and are excellent. I will have my son take some photos on the in progress diorama (the Hudson & Allen scenic bases still haven't arrived) and post them on this thread.
