Awe........... After nearly three years in the trenches the German Army was suffering from the effects of the Royal Navy's blockade, as a result many German soldiers were in awe of wealth of supplies and kit of their foes which they found when the 1918 March offensive brought them into French towns and villages which until then were relatively untouched by the war................
