We are in a middle of a long heat wave here . . . somewhat unusual for Wisconsin. Temperatures in the mid to high 90's F, very high humidity and high due points with heat indexes between 103 and 112 F. Going be like this for a week here . . local warnings to stay inside and keep cool. As I type this (7:00 a.m.), its already in the mid 80's F with 90% humidity . . . outside air is heavy and oppressive. Another day inside for me in my basement "man cave" where all my TS are. DARN, isn't that just awful. Posted some new ACW photos on the W. Britain forum the past two days, but today I thought I would post some AWI photos here at First Legion. I just wish I had some new AWI figures to show off . . . come on next AWI release . . . Anyway, here are a couple of photos showing a British Grenadier company . . . .

You have all three successful elements here. A wonderful photo / a great set of figures and a well thought out (yet simple) dioarama. Who makes the diorama material? {H&C / Build-a-Rama / JG / other?}

That's a gem. I can hear fifes and drums playing The British Grenadier.

Your photography has matured to the level of a constant string of great visual treats.

Thank you Larry . . . In these photos I am using two Hudson & Allen (Ken & Ericka Osen) shelf dioramas, a hand painted "woodland" backdrop painted by Ken Osen, and also a JG Large Oak tree which is partially seen on the right.

Why thank you Randy. I certainly appreciate your kind comments especially coming from a master photographer who's work I always admire. I wish/hope that a 5th Grenadier fifer will be seen in the future. One fifer and two drummers were assigned to each AWI British Grenadier company. I plan to purchase a second drummer at this years Chicago OTSN show as well as the mounted officer and the two flag ensigns that go with this series . . . It would be nice to have some British troops in some action poses (hoping for Light Infantry) . . . only so much can be done with figures in the marching or marching attack poses . . .

Here'a a couple of photos of the Colonila militia. Aware that the British are coming they are scoutng the road ahead and . . . . .

Excellent pictures Mike and a great series of figures to collect by the looks of things :salute:::salute:::salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

Mike, your set of pics here look great. I was looking through them, imagining the many patrol the British sent out in the months ahead of Lexington and Concord. I like the H & A scenics as well. Can't wait to see the shelf diorama they are working on for me.

Also, a fifer is needed for the grenadiers.

Excellent Mike, the vegetations blends perfectly with the figures.

Great set up...{bravo}}

What exactly is the plant that is used in your diorama on the left ? I see it all the time in H&A scenics and many other diorama pictures.

Maybe somebody knows

Alex

This is a great question for Ken to answer. I wish I could give you an answer Alex. Ken and Ericka Osen uses this nartural plant alot in their H&A dioramas. I do know that they treat the material with glycerin to prevent it from drying out, and they also spray it for the color they want to achieve. The tiny foliage is a perfect size for the figures and mimic woodland leaves very well.

At this stage of the war they should be having a "Town Meeting" about how they are going to ambush the British column. Meanwhile British "Lights" get the drop on them.

I like the poses on these figures. The First Legion maker has them looking like the mean business.

Well done Mike, Looks like you really enjoy this range that's for sharing your photos

More fantastic pictures Mike! :cool:
