Received 13 more British 5th Regmt of Foot Grenadiers this evening about 90 minutes ago - boy UPS keeps late hours - been waiting on these all day. Once again, I have been taking my time admiring them. For now, this completes my immediate plan of developing a 23-man Grenadier company/section comprised of 2 officers, 1 drummer, 2 Sgts, and 18 Pvts. I also purchased 2 of the wounded figures for a total of 25 British figures. The next FL order I place will be for Colonial militia figures. Here are a few initial photos of the grouping. Plan to do more tomorrow.

THE SECOND ASSAULT ON BREED'S HILL
JUNE 17, 1775

About 15 minutes after the first assault met with disaster, a second assault was ordered against the front of the redoubt. The British soldiers found it difficult to march up the hill. They had to wade through tall grass and step over stone walls as they climbed the steepest part of the hill in the hot afternoon. Again, the Patriots withheld their fire until the British regulars were within 50 yards. They shot with deadly accuracy and again the British lines were broken. Again, the order for retreat was sounded.

Mike, I love these pics! The formation looks great, as would be expected. I just started a new book today on the Battle of Bunker Hill, so these pics are very timely.;) Well done, sir!

Mike ,
That is impressive out of the box , set up and some Great quick shots in 90 minutes :salute:: I must admit when I read that you were expecting another order today I was buzzing around the forum hoping you would post some photo's  .. I'm looking forward to seeing what you will come up with tomorrow :wink2: Its always a pleasure to view your work . I thank you for sharing your efforts with us it really adds to my enjoyment of the Hobby .. Regards Gebhard

Mmmmm-hmmmmm! Amazing work in such short time Mike. This is an impressive line up and is especially nice to look at with the base and back-drop in place. I too look forward to seeing more of these guys in the coming days.

I just opened 3 more of the militia figures that arrived today but have not yet had a chance to mess with them as I am trying to wrap up some painting stuff tonight.

Great looking collection.

Thanks Noah, Gebhard, Brad, and MD. I continue to be amazed at the detail in these figures. At first I wasn't going to get AWI022 Officer w/Sword, AWI035 Wounded Laying Down, or AWI036 Wounded Crawling. But I really wanted to have a second officer for my company section and I thought the two extra wounded figures would be nice background and/or foreground subjects. I am glad I got them now - great details, great facial expressions . . . Here's two more photos. I usually don't take elevated/aerial photos because it exposes the bases and I have yet to get software that will allow me to "mask" them. However I wanted to show a better overall view of the grouping with a clear view of the officer and drummer in the rear.

Love the new photos Mike. Will you be adding the mounted Colonel eventually?

Excited to see what you do with the militia now. I was so pleased with the batch of reinforcements that arrived yesterday that I've just gone and ordered up 3 more. :rolleyes2:

Mike..I have to remember to watch the First Legion thread. I missed all these great shots of your new figures. I still say you take such great photos so effortlessly.

Keep 'em coming!

Joe

Your latest photos look like a painting. Those new figures look tremendous in that setting.

Hey, nice editing around the figure bases on the last photo. Looks really sharp.

MD

Looks like you got the covering of the bases figured out real quick.
A wonderful photo.

Thanks again; Jake, MD, 6th WI, Joe, and Konrad. I can't take the credit for editing out the bases. My good friend and fellow Wisconsinite Joe Baker (playsetaddict) did this for me. Someday I'm really going to have to learn how to do this.
