AWI058-AWI069 Continental Haslet's 1st Delaware Pre-Order!! (1 Viewer)

Thanks Brendan & Noah for the information {bravo}} Would you guys know if any unit ever carried a version of this flag ? It really is a flag that I'm pulled to , even more so then the don't tread on me which is also one of my all time favorites {bravo}}. Thanks again

You have probable already thought of this, but I suppose that you could get one of the AWI001 figures and have someone repaint the flag with the Franklin image. If you are wanting a display piece to go along with your desk-displayed flag you bought, that might be an option.

Hey Gebhard, I hate to say "never", but I have not heard of a unit carrying a flag with this specific image from Franklin on it. As you allude, there are numerous variations of the yellow Gadsden flag, more commonly known as the "Don't Tread on Me" flag. Most of those weren't actually carried as unit colours either, though the one below is closely related. It is often referred to as the first "Navy Jack" and was used on some Continental Navy ships. Not exactly what you were looking for, but there it is....

Thanks Noah ,
Its Great to learn new things , I'm really having a hard time not starting a small AMI collection of just the drummers and standard bearers :redface2::redface2:.. I have been enjoying the Ales of the Revolution from Yards brewery of Philly ^&grin if you enjoy a nice Beer they are well worth a look and are brewed from some famous recipes of the times really cool stuff . Anyway thanks for the info my friend all the best Gebhard

Thats a great idea {bravo}}

Gebhard, since you enjoy Napoleonic history, I can see why these uniforms would appeal to you. I have most of the AWI range, and they are wonderful. I especially like the drummer from the British regiment. I studied European history in grad school. For that reason and the great uniforms, I collect a small number of figures representing some of the Napoleonic regiments. I love flags too!

I had wanted a diorama of part of the Brandywine Battlefield for a long time. During a visit from my friend Rodrigo DeBrito from Canada, he generously agreed to work on one. My dioramas tend to be smallish which might have helped his decision …
We quickly decided on the eastside of the Benjamin Ring house which still stands on the battlefield today as we both liked the stonework and the white windows and doors.

The idea was not totally new:

Our plan coincided with FL’s release of the Haslet's 1st Delaware Regiment which seems to have taken part in the conflict.

Unlikely, they fought at the Benjamin Ring house – but I have not found a living eyewitness yet who confirms they did not. And I am still reading "John Haslet: A Useful One" by Fred B. Walters.

Thanks again to Matt Pavone and Rodrigo DeBrito:
