I discussed this with a couple of WB collectors on here. I would think new collectors interested in this era will opt for the FL range as its always good to start from a range beginning. The Britain's stuff is nice but, for me too late to start. It would now cost more to play catch up with the Britain's range than collect FL. I see some hefty prices for Britain's Zulu sets.

I am also not keen on mixing sets so, would not be drawn into filling the ranks with two manufacturers. If your happy doing that fine but, its not for me.

The poll states unfortunately I missed the boat and will have to buy FL. For me wanting to collect this stuff there is no unfortunately about it the thought of having a Rourkes drift dio is very appealing and something I have fancied for ages

But how do you know what has sold where? Do you know the exact inventory of every store that sells William Britain?

Sorry I do not follow your logic. There are very few LTD edition sets available from the WB website.

20069 - British 24th Foot Stretcher Bearer Set

20089 - British Royal Artillery 7 Pound Gun and Crew No.2, "Last Shot"

20099 - British Royal Artillery Gun Team No.1, "Desperate Escape," 7 Pound Gun, Limber, Horses, Crew and Zulu Warrior

20129 - "SEAMAN AYNSLEY'S DEMISE" - HAND-TO-HAND SET WITH SEAMAN AYNSLEY AND TWO ZULUS

20130 - "PULLEINE'S END" - BRITISH 24TH FOOT LT. COLONEL PULLEINE AND ZULU HAND-TO-HAND SET

I don't think that is too bad from a total of almost 150 different sets.

20028
20029
20030
20040
20084
20096
20101
20025
20009
20020
20024
20042
20085
20131
20102
20100
20116
20150
20099
20047
20146
20143

A few more that you appear to have missed...........

Considerable variation in quantity produced.

Sorry I still have no idea what you are talking about!!!

I never missed those, they are sold out on the WB site (I didn't notice that 20047 was LTD edition forgive me and I though 20101 was sold out.) I did mention 20099 as being still available.

20150, 20143 & 20146 haven't even been released yet.

I would love to know where this extra product you speak of is, as these items when they do come up on eBay, sell for tidy sums of money.

We have to agree to disagree.

While we are talking about the competition, why doesn't wbritains consider a lying down figure that is firing or something you could put on the rorke drift hospital roof similar to the recent Thomas Gunn 24th of foot figure coming out later this month... it is kinda surprising after a 100 or so releases that we don't have one yet...
