Hi Guys,
Just got back into the “Pearl of the Orient” after 2 1/2 weeks in the good ole U.S. of A.
I’m happy to report that it was great to see many old friends at the “West Coaster” and a very big thankyou to good mates Chris Munro of the Soldier Gallery in Cambria, California and K&C collector, Jason Englund for helping me “Man the fort” at the show itself.
An added bonus was being joined by other good friends, Hans Hedrich and John Bennett for the days of the show….Lots of good laughs and a fair bit of “Jim Beam” and “Jack Daniels” was enjoyed by all…Add to this mix Marc (Beaufighter) and quite a few others and you begin to see why toy soldier shows are a lot more than just…toy soldiers!
On the business side Mike & Myzska Hall of Sierra Toy Soldiers hosted another very enjoyable K&C Saturday Night event with a record number of guests. Thankyou!
K&C was also fortunate to be joined by our co-founder and business partner Laura Johnson and her young son Jamie from San Antonio who were attending the “West Coaster” for the first time to see the show and promote the upcoming 2013 Texas Toy Soldier Show in San Antonio in late May (Memorial Day Weekend).
This show, like many others, are not events to be easily missed and I really would recommend those of us who love toy soldiers and military miniatures in all their many varieties to try to attend. The internet is great but nothing beats seeing toy soldiers for real and discovering all kinds of great surprises both before and during the event itself. America is indeed blessed to have lots of terrific one day events as well as multi day shows like Chicago, Valley Forge, the West Coaster and, now, the Texas Show. I urge you to support these shows in general and your nearest one in particular….. They are so much fun and deserve your patronage….and participation.
And that brings me to “Woody” and “Bubba”….the two guys behind the “West Coaster”…. A gigantic “Gracias Amigos” to you both for your hard, hard work and dedication in spite of difficult economic times and serious health issues.
Thanks for reading so far and….more to follow!
