I received the new HB SS Panzer crew recently and I think they are excellent.

Here is a picture putting them into context.

That is a fantastic shot!!:cool::cool::cool: It still chaffs me that Honour Bound was forced to stop making vehicles. I have all but the Gold Edition Sturmtiger, and they really were the best principally polystone vehicles in the industry.:(

Mate that is fantastic, and i agree Louis there vehicles where superb still after this winter Panther it will be mine one day.How do you do that to a pic add smoke etc ive got to learn thanks again mate great pic.

Frank,

Again classy shot, thanks for posting. It’s good to see a little action on the HB thread. This set has really caught my attention, has anyone else picked it yet? If so what are your opinions. Cheers, Alby

Great shot Frank! The new crew is a well thought out offering conveying both action and storyline.

I received my unpainted HB Panther from the fine folks at Treefrog Treasures recently. I am really impressed by the quality detail in the road wheels, drive sprocket and tracks compared to even more recent offerings from other manufacturers. I am looking forward to getting mine tricked out to photograph soon.

All the Best!

Whoa Frank, very nice. Not to go off the subject, but someone should make a tank commander with just his head and shoulders showing in the tank cupola peering with his binoculars to avoid sniper fire. This would be a nice combat change from half of the tankers body showing without fear. Imagine that in Frank's picture, of course, without the guys bailing from the tank.

I recieved mine last week excellent figures. Nice dio and photo. Louis is right and, what a miss in the market their products are. I was fortunate to get all the general releases but, only got two tigers and, would have liked the sturmtiger but, as Ana said only twelve done so, not much chance with the quality of that coming on the market.....Ever!

Your excellent photo looks like it could have been on the pages of Life magazine during the war.

I'm working on a smoke/dust tutorial that I will be adding to my Digital Image Editing thread in the How-to section. I'll post a link here when it is available.

It was the HB Winter Panther that got me into this hobby. The detailing, particularly in regards to the wheels and tracks, really stands out and I believe raised the bar for all manufacturers.

I'm quite looking forward to seeing what you do with your Panther Ken. It will be a fantastic piece to use in the promo shots for your scenics.

Great work, Frank. The eye level view is simple, yet extremely effective.

Outstanding shot ! Those HB figs turned out quite well (as usual). My HB winter panther is one of the most prized items among my toy soldier collection.

Why did HB quit making vehicles?
Mark

It was the economics of producing and shipping heavy polystone vehicles from Argentina. Our host Pete explained some of the difficulties back when it was happening. Quite a few of us offered to commit to pre-buy one of each vehicle as it was produced, but nothing we offered could save Honour Bound's vehicle production.

It was hugely expensive to get them over too the UK and, it nearly meant that you were paying more for Postage than you were for the products. Its a massive blow as they were excellent quality and, apart from the Gold edition (which, you expect to be chunky) very well priced.
