No WONDER I couldn't find these available on any e-tailer's site. They are excellent looking and I sure hope they become a general release.

Thanks guys for the link and the pictures; they look excellent, priced to move at 50.00 each and I hope they do become part of the BAR range........

Mark at BAR does like to sometimes 'test the waters' on eBay with new items before releasing them to everyone else.

They do look great.

Here's a question - would people prefer to purchase a 3-D building or a facade?

Well, since you've ignored my calling myself God, and you are a man-of-the-cloth so you should have at least called me on that one:eek: , I will attempt to provide a mortal response to your question:rolleyes:

It all sort-of-depends. I like to use both. I use 3-D buildings or facades where they make the most sense to me. And don't think its as simple as a 3D in a diorama or a facade on a shelf (although it could be that simple). To me, it is more to do with the atmosphere I wish to expresss with the particular soldiers or vehicles regardless of the venue for display. :) Sometimes on the edge of a diorama a facade is more "space efficient" and sometimes on a shelf a building will help to show the true dimensions of the vehicle or effect of the display being displayed.

I think this will be basically down to a personal opinion choice but most collectors will go for a mix of dio styles. However the physical method of each collectors display will also influence which type is more appropriate.

For example I feel the facade type of diorama will be best suited to the curio style display cabinet situation, especially where the shelves are closely spaced.

While a collector with a more open shelf such as on top of a low cabinet or even a table may prefer the 3-D building.

That said, as people expand their collection they will tend to have a mix of display styles such cabinets and bench top displays.

So no doubt most of us will want a choice of dio styles - so bring em on :)

Personally I prefer the facade type because I place more importance on my figures and vehicles rather than the buildings etc. But I also have several 3-D buildings for 'special' pieces.

Of course it is important that facades are able to be placed adjoining each other to varying extent and look realistic. And there is also some collector preference for 3-D dios that can be used in a modular situation where they are joined together or in close proximity.

.

Hey, how DID I miss that?

Cities and towns are clusters of buildings, but it is hard to get that efffect with "full" buildings because they take up so much display space, they crowd out the rest of the scene, IMHO. I like the idea of a line of facades to allow smaller scenes, or to use with shelf displays.

I like them both, facades and 3-D, but the facades offer more flexibility in smaller ares of display and they're far more affordable.:) Although I'm willing to bet those B-A-R facades on Ebay will be at least $10 more a piece when they hit the dealers, still pretty reasonable.

I love them both. Having the option to purchase both styles would be splendid. Additionally, having both styles would be smart marketing as you would keep all collectors alike content!
