George, I'm always impressed by the huge number of figures and the action in your dios. I also really like the landscaping you have done on this effort. Found myself studying the fields, roads, fences, buildings, just everything. It is just plain fun to try and spot all the details hidden within your massive battlefields. I am, like others on this forum, also very impressed with the effort that is obviously taken to bring these battlefields to us. I salute your patience and love for the presentation.:salute:: ^&cool -- Al

I have to say George that you must have steady hands and a lot of patients to set all that lot up!

Again, another goody in the basement!

Tom

Thanks Tom, I enjoy setting them up, it's a lot of fun for me.

Thanks very much Al, I appreciate the kind words.

I had to get a bit creative with this one, had to shorten the battlefield a bit on the ends and also to the rear. In reality, the Trostle farm was much further down the road and the positioning of the battery behind the farm where the 21st MS was stopped was much further back. Also, plum run was further back as well.

To do this one right, I would have needed a space probably 12 by 8; this one is 9 by 5.

That said, I do like the way it came together; I can tell pretty much right away if these are going to work or not. In the past, I've scrapped several about 1/3rd of the way through as they just weren't coming together right as odd as that may sound.

Very impressive display. I also much appreciate the attention to historical detail and landscaping. It is great to be able to appreciate the scope of action available by using this scale, something just not practical for us 54-60 mm collectors. I do very much enjoy your dioramas.

Hi George,

Again you have an amazing set up here! I would love to see it in person someday! The 20mm is for sure the best way to go on this sort of a display. you would need a massive barn or warehouse to set up in if you tried to do it in 54mm! You must have buckets and buckets full of guys to make up these displays, I am certainly a bit jealous.

Looking forward to the next one!

All the best

Dave

It would be practical in 54/60mm if you lived in an airplane hangar......;)......

Thanks very much, glad you like the diorama, I do my best to make them as accurate as possible when I am doing a certain battle, as one forum member likes to say "Get real" or "Keeping it real" or some words to that effect.

Thanks again for your comments......

Thanks Dave, I appreciate the feedback, this is the scale that works best for me, have about 20,000 metal 20mm figures, pretty much at the end of the collecting aspect of it and will be focusing more on the display aspect..............

Been away for a while and just discovered this great display George. 2,500 figs in one display! You've really captured the feel of the battle in a grand scope. Like the way you have placed the artillery supported by the individual regt's you mentioned. A true epic of my favorite period. Chris
