I don't know why I don't see more Barzso products collected or shown by Treefroggers...maybe some of the guys on here just have not looked at them lately...are not aware of them or have never given them a chance...

These are Barzso "Shores of Tripoli" buildings...

a very Middle Eastern type of structure that seems timeless...

these types of structures exist now and existed 1000 years ago...they have changed very little over the years...

I could see them being used with so many eras...Arabic...Nile...Africa...Middle Eastern...so many applications...

I am anxious to use these pieces with John Jenkin's Nile series...I think they are perfect...

they are really cheap too...well constructed, sturdy and pretty well detailed...

the best thing about them...each side and each corner is completely different...you can get tons of mileage by using it for backdrops without repeating yourself...

I enclosed the link to Barzso's website...but the photos on the website are misleading...

the website photos of the buildings...make them seem to be painted different...but they are identical in painting, color and style...

I have both of them...and they match perfectly...here's a photo of the two pieces together...

Barzso's buildings are wonderful products...he has quite a range on his website from Crusader castles to French/Indian forts...

I own his log barn, log cabin, 2 sections of his Adobe wall set, his Adobe gate set and these two Tripoli pieces...they are are very well detailed pieces and at bargain prices...

I just took a few pictures of them with backdrops for my K&C Crusader's series...Barzso makes a nice product...

All these pictures were taken using two of Barzso's "Shore's of Tripoli" buildings...you can skip the photos if you don't like Crusaders...but check out the buildings...they are really nice and very affordable...I took 10 photos with these two structures and never repeated the backdrop...these buildings are finished completely different on all four sides...they give you a lot of options...and the price is really sweet......I forgot to mention...these buildings are less than $30 apiece...

Michael,
I've got a few of the Barzso pieces and agree, they are excellent. Trouble is I can't get hold of the Trip 2 story building. Got the other one, but I think he stopped producing them.

I used dozens of Barzo's in my Alamo set-up way back-always have been a fan and would have thought you'd have noticed:D

I have the whole Tripoli set for sale, MIB never opened, seal intact if anyone is interested.

Contes Normandy church will always be my favorite foam building but the seperate castle done a few years ago ranks right up there. And I,m not a medeviel fan.
Within the past year I sold all my Barzso playsets and individual bag sets as I had collected his stuff from day one and they were like gold on ebay!
PS, I still have the castle.

I remember two or three years ago at Chicago Warbuff had built a WW II North African dio with a couple of Barzo buildings for Treefrog and I thought the buildings and dio were excellent. Until the new K & C buildings came along, I suppose there was nothing else you could use.

Simon - the 2 story building is still available.. It's listed on Ron Bazso's website:

Glad you guys like the buildings,

Jim

Thanks for the heads up guys. It's been a while since I checked Rons site, and they were out of stock last time I looked.

Jim,
Couldn't remember, are the buildings your handiwork?

Very nice. Does anyone think it would be too much of a stretch to use them for my Indian Durbar ???

Yes, I sculpted them.. In fact, the Tripoli projects were the first things I sculpted for Ron.. I've done all the buildings and fortifications for him since.

I don't think it would be a stretch at all...these building are timeless...changing little over the centuries...indiginous to all regions of the Middle East and some surrounding areas...

Well, not bad for a first effort I suppose :p
Jim, the buildings are very impressive, as are your susbsequent constructions.
Cheers

Hi Scott,

I think there are some interesting alternatives to the Barzo Buildings, but I think the Barzo Buildings have the potential to look quite nice with the Durbar figures. I suspect a little paint in the right places would enhance their effectiveness. If you decide to utilize these buildings in your Durbar display, please post some photos for us to examine. Also, I will be very interested in your impression of them once you have them in hand.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Agree.....
The Barzso castle is very well done and an excellent backdrop for any Medieval display.
The Conte church is dynamic but needs work to fit the roof without large gaps.
