Barzso considering a WW2 playset. (1 Viewer)

Rob:

Perhaps "hate" was a poor choice of words in my comment, I should have said "I have no or ZERO interest in that theater of operations". As far as not careing for the europeans, NO that is not it at all. Last time I checked England, New Zealend, Australia were all involved with us fighting a much more fanatical foe in the pacific, and they did a good job in the areas they were assigned to fight in.

I just am tired of most everyone thinking that the Nazies were the greatest enemy ever and they "ALONE" killed six million people in camps. Well they did do that, but has anyone thought about what Japan did in the pacific? How many mllions of chinese did the japs kill in thier occupation of china? No one will ever know, because China was a poor country then and I'm sure population records were not kept up in all of the different provinces. Has anyone thought about what they did in Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Guinea, all of the hundreds of islands and the islanders? The most ruthless foe we "US" have ever faced was Japan--by leaps and bounds. Not because of thier military might, but by thier own culture. It basically turned into a race war, as they hardly ever surrendered, and if we hadn't had dropped the bomb on them twice, we may still be there fighting. They had thier entire population ready to meet us at the beaches and die. Even the dreaded SS knew when to give up and surrender, that was not in the playbook at Japan.

I hope that when this new series comes out someone will deliver some more pacific stuff, but if they don't, looks like I will be saving alot of money.............Stryker
I have to agree with you there, the Japanese were probably far worse war criminals then the Germans ever were, but sometimes it's who you kill not how many that get's the world's attention. Funny thing is that practice still continues in today's world.

Ed: you are so right. I imagine that if the world had seen or had documented evidence of all the other towns, and cities, and provinces of China Like "the rape of Nanking", then it very much would have rivaled alot of the extermination camps. The Japs didn't try to cover up anything though, they just left the "evidence" for all to see. I have read the Nanking book, and interestingly, a german diplomat or higher official there, actually tried to save some people and was horrified at the sheer savagry of "JAPANESE SETTLEMENT". This of course is to say nothing about how they treated all prisoners like during the death march of Bataan. No I really don't remember any nation in modern times, that completely declared war on everything not Japanese, to act in such a brutal way. I guess its a good thing that the Germans didn't have them "advising" them in any of the occupied countries!!!.............Stryker

While I can't verfiy the accuracy,we let a lot of the guys that were involved in the biological warfare section avoid prosecution so we could gain their knowledge. We were however aware of many of their activities like bombs with plague infested fleas and some of the savage experiments they conducted on the Chinese, at least according to this history channel episode. Again I cant verify the accuracy, but it doesn't sound too far out of the realm of possibility.

Ed: I too saw that History Channel episode, and I Believe it to be true. They had some area of China named Camp ?, that conducted alot of experiments on prisoners and people.............Stryker

And, we let an awful lot of guys who were involved in the rockets that dropped onto London and Antwerp come over to our side also.

I could not resist adding my 2 cents worth on this subject about the different theatres: Consider: Stalin killed more people in prison than Hitler. He wiped out nearly 80% of his officer core right before the beginning of the war. Russia invaded Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia as an aggressor at the beginning of the war. Because they were on the winning side no warcrimes? The Germans received some blame for massacres in Poland which turned out to be the result of Russian attrocities.

To the victors goes the war crimes tribunals?

i think it's about time they made a WW2 playset.
i never watched "COMBAT!", so i would prefer they do just regular WW2.

just what i think.

Anybody seen Barzso at a show and talked to him about it or heard anymore about a WW2 set from him?
BOBBYGMOORE

Yeah, TSSD made the figures, Barzso made the buildings. This might be as close he'll get to making a WW2 set

I don't know, could that Normandy style building he came out with at the Indy show be a clue?

You know what, I forgot about that, you're right; that may take the chances up from what I thought was zero. I've talked to Ron before, his favorite era is flintlock era, which I think he will most likely stick with, unless he does another TV based set, those seemed to have been very popular for him. I think Ron could do a "Swamp Fox" set from the TV series with Leslie Nielson. This way he could continue the TV based sets and at the same time throw in a Rev War set, which he has never done.
As for WW2, I think he could do a TV based set off "Combat!" with character figures of Vic Morrow and etc.
But personally I'd like to see Barzso do a Fort Necessity set as I wish the same for John Jenkins :) I use to live near that area, always appealed to me.
