4th Hussar is right about Dorset Soldiers Cem.

If you go to the website - and then click on "European Wars" - you can see both Turkish Mounted Cavalry and Light Infantry Turkish troops on foot - in action poses, pictured.

Cavalry shown are Turkish Lancers, Officer with drawn sword and a Trumpeter.

The Turkish Light Infantry are shown as a Standing Officer, Standing firing, Kneeling firing and another Trumpeter.

On the same page are a variety of other troops - which with appropriate head changes - and/or arm changes - could also convert some French, Prussians, Russians, Austrians, Saxon troops etc - to a variety of other poses - including artillery. All can be bought as either castings ( to paint and/or convert yourself) - or as painted specimens - if you prefer. With a few arm changes, many other poses suggest themselves. The Officer could have binoculars to eyes - drawn sword etc. Standing troops could be throwing grenades, for example - by using appropriate arm change.

So - easy enough to begin with the straightforward Turkish troops - and with a bit more thought - other conversions might follow. Have a look at WW1 pages too - as many other castings appear which might also convert to Turkish troops.

Steadfast is still in business as RP World Models, but I am not aware if they make any Turks. Giles Brown of Dorset Toy Soldiers can likely come up with Turkish troops since he has lots of different bodies and heads.

This is Bastion Models set No. A.7 PRUSSIAN INFANTRY, 1900. They are wearing their dress uniforms with picklehaube helmets. I don't have this set in my collection, but do have A.7a which has the figures at the ready rather than marching.

This Bastion Models set was recently on eBay: WORLD WAR I ARGYLL & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS. I asked the British seller if he knew the set number, but he didn't reply. The one odd thing I noticed about this set is that the bases seem to be thicker than the typical Bastion set, so I am wondering if this might be an early effort from Andrew Rose.

This is Bastion Models set A.16 BRITISH INFANTRY MARCHING 1914 which I picked up on eBay several months ago.

This is Bastion Models set A.25 ROYAL AIRFORCE 1925 which recently appeared on eBay and sold for $56 (a real steal). The RAF was set up as an independent organization in 1918 and wore khaki uniforms. By 1925, RAF blue was universally in use.

In a December eBay auction, a large number of Bastion sets were offered from a collection. Almost all of them were six-figure sets in green boxes rather than eight-figure sets in maroon boxes, which is the norm. In fact, I had never seen the smaller sets and green boxes before even though have been collecting Bastion for 20 years. I will try to post photos of those sets which were on eBay which have not been posted in this thread before.

I really wanted to bid on those, but decided that the Frontline PD-series figures . . . which were up for sale at the same time . . . were a higher priority. (Glad we weren't bidding against each other.) Something about Bastion Miniatures figures that really catches the eye . . . would that I had more!

Actually, I didn't win any of the six-figure Bastion Models sets I am posting here. I am doing it more "For The Record" as a future reference for anyone who is interested. I have about three dozens sets and add them when I can.

Bastion Models set A.23 QUEEN'S OWN CAMERON HIGHLANDERS, EGYPT, 1882.

This is Bastion Models set A.24 BRITISH INFANTRY, MIDDLE EAST, 1914. They are wearing shorts and the 1902 Wolsely helmet. This service dress typifies the serve dress worn right up to 1939.

Bastion Models set A.26 BAVARIAN INFANTRY 1900 who are wearing uniforms very similar to those of Prussia, but are sky blue in color. Someone beat me out on the eBay auction for this set with a bid of $102.50, but I like these Kingdom of Bavaria uniforms so much that I am ordering a special set from Hiriart in 2016 which will include an officer, flag bearer, bugler and six men.

Bastion Models set A.38 BRITISH INFANTRY IN ACTION, 1916 sold at auction for $103.50 which would be the equivalent of $138 for a "standard" set of eight figures. Note that this set of six figures is in the larger maroon box with eight slots.
