Re: Bastion Model Boxer Rebellion

Tom,

Do you remember what they sold for? In the past, I have been selling my duplicate Bastion sets in their original boxes for $90 each at the West Coaster.

Hi Mike,
I don't but it was ridiculous for what they usually go anywhere from 60 to 100, so 90 is probably near right!

The sets were bid up by one person who must have needed them!!!!!!

Re: Bastion Model Boxer Rebellion

Thank you, Martyn. I rediscovered toy soldiers in 1992 when my wife and I flew to San Antonio, Texas to attend my son's graduation from U.S. Air Force Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base. We wandered into the Kings X shop at the Menger Hotel next to the Alamo and I bought my first four sets (Alymer and Tradition) on the spot.

I started buying Bastion from a local southern California shop a few years later. Unfortunately, the owner sold the shop and it took me many years to get all 20 of Bastion's Boxer Rebellion sets plus the two artillery sets. But as you know, the fun is in the chase.

Hi Friends,

Have you ever craved for a maxim machinegun so as to provide our colonial troops with some real fire power.....and with that better explore the later Sudan/Egypt and Northwestern campaigns that the current offerings of gatling guns and nordenfelts cannot cope with due to the fact they were phased out......well guess what Craig at Wilson Edward Toy Soldiers - www.wilsonedward.com has released a great maxim gun and carriage.....see pictures below...All I have for now are pictures from his pdf catalogue of a set in casting not painted....but for sure the painted version will come soon....The one pictured is a multinational garrison at Peking 1900 Boxer Rebellion, but I have the word that Craig can man the gun with the troops we wish within the range of WETS.....That means, British Boer, African and Northwestern Frontier, Sudan and Egypt.....Russian for the Japanese - Russo War of 1903.....You name it......

Great News.......Now Mike cannot miss the boat.....Craig also has a very nice nordenfelt and gatlingimage002.gifimage004.gif

One doesn't see Bastion Models often for sale on eBay these days, but this month there was a set of Chinese Boxers in action which sold for $102.50. The set number was not provided, but it was not B16 or B17.

Here is another Bastion Models Boxer Rebellion set that recently appeared on eBay. It is B.6 Japanese Infantry, 1900. I sold a second extra B.6 set that I owned several years ago at the West Coaster for $90.

We seem to have had an unusual number of Bastion Models sets appearing on eBay over the past month or two; I can't ever remember seeing so many offered from several sellers in such a short period of time. Here is a set I knew about, but had never seen before, it is set B.21 Chinese Boxers (brown) in action. The set was unboxed, so I don't know if that description is exactly correct or not. It sold for $125.

This set sold for the highest price I can ever remember seeing on eBay for any Bastion Models offering. It sold for $180 and is set B.23 Chinese Irregular Infantry in action. I went back and checked on recent eBay activity and found 12 Boxer Rebellion sets sold at an average price of $109.

This is another unboxed Bastion Models Boxer Rebellion set that I had never seen before which recently appeared on eBay. It is set B.24 Russian Infantry at the Ready, 1900. I believe that all the sets numbered after B.20 are non-marching variations of those first 20 marching sets (B.1 through B.20).

This Bastion Models unboxed set B.1 U.S. MARINES, 1900 recently sold on eBay for $193. That makes it the most expensive Bastion set sold on eBay that I am aware of.

This is Bastion Models Boxer Rebellion set B.10 RUSSIAN SAILORS, 1900, which I picked up on eBay for Bob Walker's Metal Shed special commission Russian battleship. He has one set on it already, but it could use another. THe Russian Navy was unique among the European powers in having dark green, rather than blue as its basic uniform color.

These are four Bastion Models Boxer Rebellion sets that I recently picked up on eBay, for re-sale at the West Coaster. They are B.16 CHINESE BOXERS, B.7 AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN SAILORS, B.6 JAPANESE INFANTRY, and B.5 RUSSIAN INFANTRY. I also have set B.3 FRENCH MARINES for re-sale, not shown. I will try and sell all five sets together as a group; I have all these sets in my collection, so these are duplicates.

Well, I sold nine Bastion Models Boxer Rebellion sets to three diferent collectors at this last weekend's West Coaster. I sold BS.5 RUSSIAN INFANTRY, B.6 JAPANESE INFANTRY, B.7 AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN SAILORS, B.10 RUSSIAN SAILORS (2 sets), B.12 H.M. 1ST CHINESE REGIMENT, B.16 CHINESE BOXERS, and B.19 ITALIAN SAILORS (2 sets). All sets sold for $100 each. The only two Boxer Rebellion sets that I didn't sell were B.3 FRENCH MARINES and B.13 ROYAL WELSH FUSILIERS. Interestingly, I didn't sell any of the "A" series World War I sets. Here is is a photo from my room at the Marriott of some of the Boxer Rebellion sets.

Just saw this boxed Bastion Models set B.16 CHINESE BOXERS on eBay today. It is at a Buy-It-Now price of $249.99 which would be the highest selling price that I have seen for a Bastion Models set to date.
