Panda, your knowledge is remarkable of the WWII British conflicts. But your pics are incredible, those recent photos in black and white, would look real to the unsuspecting eye, Great stuff:)

Aye,
Both the "Diorama and Displays" and the "Diorama how-To" sections are simply buzzing at the moment. Every single thread is simply brilliant in its own way.

Cheers

Thanks for the post, just re-read your question about the toolman - sorry, have no idea. Welcome to the forum though and look forward to more posts!

This was one part of the air war where the allies lost tactical air superiority........

Ray, can't do that - would have to shoot you! Louis may be able to help - I can say however that it is fantastic.

Re: battle for arnhem....

Ray,

That's a K&C Junkers JU88 nightfighter, mohagony, produced around 1996-97. Its one of my favorites. Since K&C has made an ME110 and an ME410 in 2007, I wouldn't be surprised if Andy revisited the JU88.

Re: battle for arnhem....

The ME110 and the ME410 were $895, and I suspect the JU88 would also be this price. If K&C were to only release one plane every 2 months (6 models a year) it probably wouldn't be impossible to afford them. The problem is when 4 models come out in a month, with 2-4 different paint jobs for each model.

Hi Louis,

Ha! :D I beg to differ with you. A hobby expenditure of $895 every two months would definitely be a huge problem for me!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Re: battle for arnhem....

If there were six models a year, I could probably afford three. Not sure I could do more than that. However, we know it's going to be more than six, probably be more like 18. That's where it gets tricky. I'm passing on the Pacific planes in the hopes of other planes later this year.

Kevin, sorry we temporarily hijacked your thread:eek:

Re: battle for arnhem....

Pat,

I agree that even at one every two months these birds are still quite expensive, my point was that no one can afford to buy 2-4 warbirds every month at these prices. According to Bill Sager's website in the 11 months since Andy relaunched Warbirds at the 2007 Westcoaster/Symposium last March, K&C has released something more than 35 variations of the new planes. At an average of 3 a month, there is no way an airwar collector can hope to keep up, and as the planes come in runs of 10 or less, it is virtually impossible to wait and catch up later, as even at these prices, every single warbird produced to date has completely sold out.

For example, I would love to buy the Vraciu Hellcat, but I can't as I already have one of K&C's mid-1990's Hellcats, and Bill's site indicates a Dauntless and an Avenger will be released this month, both planes I would like to buy, but at best I will be able to scrape together the funds for one.

Brad

Don't consider it 'my thread', carry on.

Would like someone to help me out with the question I raised in the Bulge thread about the US infantry firepower though - did the US soldiers try to upgun their squads with automatic weapons???

Re: battle for arnhem....

Great pics Panda, your photo taken has its own unique style, you get the best of each shot. I agree the Diorama section is in full swing, those involved know who they are, and are all doing a great job.:)

Re: battle for arnhem....

Lets ask the big WARBIRD COLLECTION question - How many do each of you who are collecting these birds have in your collection?

If 35 Planes have been released since March 2007 - who has how many of them ??
