Battle of Monongahela – July 9, 1755. “Into the hunting grounds.” Part II (2 Viewers)

An absolutely wonderful display of what I think is JJD's best range. Enjoyed seeing it.

Thanks again guys.

I have left some room on the bottom shelf where the fighting is taking place just in case John comes out with some 44th Fighting Regulars in the future. I sure hope he does at one point.

Until then, I will work on putting in some small trees, shrubs, weeds, etc....

What a magnificent display. The display case is most impressive, but the sheer number of JJD sets you have put together is really mind-boggling. Well done! -- lancer

Thanks for the pictures of your fantastic collection of the series. I collect the BOS series but this series is very nice. Leadmen

I am slowly adding terrain features into this display. The low lying vegetation and trees. Still a work in process.

Hey Launch System!
Very cool stuff, and a great way to fill out a room! I've enjoyed looking very much!

Congratulations on amassing such a wonderful JJ collection and displaying them so nicely! You're doing an excellent job with the trees and ground work and I look forward to seeing your progress.

Very realistic action! Thanks a lot for these wonderful pictures!

Nice photos. That's a good, safe, dustless way to display your collection as well.

Good Morning,

I am thinking this totally wonderful display has a repainted/changed figure. For those of a more curious mind, BM geeks, and the puzzle solvers in the crowd, stop reading now and see if you can spot the figure. Location of the figure is described below, so......

The needed photo is in the post for the "3rd Shelf".

"The battle is now 2 hours old. General Braddock was just struck by enemy fire. Panic is on the verge of taking over. Chaos is everywhere along the line."

Maybe the 3rd or 4th photo in the post. I think I see this repainted figure on the bottom shelf between Orme and Braddock. Best viewed from the photo were you can see Orme's back. Might be the 13th photo posted for the thread --- under the caption "Braddock in a Sea of Despair".

Darrel, did you re-paint the grenadier officer from Wolfe's Death from green facings/red pants to yellow facings / white pants to match the 44th? Or am I delusional?

Great display, I really like the way you portray different moments of the battle. I guess you've been reading a few things on Monongahela;).

Bah, I am wrong again. Not a Suprise!!! I misidentified the figure, it is the sergeant from BM-07, just without his halbred equipped.

I looked at that photo for 5 minutes before I finally understood which figure you were looking at...

Darrell is a purist...

I don't think he would alter a figure...

but he made great use of the figure...

Hey guys,

Yes, Mike knows me well. I don't convert my figures. More out of a fear of what I would do to them more or less. :)

That older picture of the sergeant can be explained. When I bought that particular new set of BM-07, his halberd was missing from the factory. John has since sent me one, but I was trying to figure out what to do with him since he had no weapon. That was how he ended up to the side/rear of Braddock. Then, I just took the regiment's colors and placed it in his hands one day and it has stayed there since. Here is a more recent photo.

Now I just need to get the Halkett's inserted in this curio.

...and you know, there is so much you can do with that pose. Are you sure he isn't holding a can of beer?
