It was a foggy morning in Galveston, Texas....12/08/2009....

when Braddock's Army met the French/Indian coalition on the open plains of my dining room table...

with no trees or forest coverage to hide behind....

and only the steep cliffs of the edge of the table to their sides...

the French and Indian forces looked doomed...

revenge for Braddock seemed imminent............................

okay....I'm bored....hehehehehe....:D

I'm gonna put the Virginia Provincial on the other end of the table...

and the French/Indians in the middle...

and it's gonna be a slaughter that rewrites history....

but right now I'm tired of opening little red boxes and unpacking soldiers....

so I'll get back to work on it tomorrow.

MIKE....I dont know! I think i will have to turn on the GREAT SNOW FAN and SNOW MACHINE to slow down your attack. Have fun old buddy we are watching you in the far north......ha..ha,,keep up the good work.

Michael, that is entirely too many JJD's for one man to control on a battlefield effectively. I suggest you reinforce my sparse army with some of your reserves. And where did you manage to get 2 BM-03's? You are a fortunate man and I look forward to the revisionist battle in the offing.:D -- Al

Al...it's an optical illusion...

look close at the both the figures holding the BM03...Regimental Colours flags...

Ones a BM11 figure...

John felt sorry for me and showed me some pity by gifting me a "leftover" Regimental flag a long time ago...

since I could not find or buy a "real" BMO3 to buy...

since then I "horse traded" with my friend "A"...for a real complete set of BM03...

who let me get the best of him cause he's a nice guy and wanted to give me the last piece of my puzzle.

There's only one BM03 set in there.:(

Yes Mike I can see it now.Where have all the BM-03's gone?Along with BM-06 They are the hardest sets to find, even FM's can be found here and there but not those 2 sets.
Mark

I know....

BM1's....2's....3's and 6's....so rare....

It doesn't make sense....

especially 3 and 6...they are "one off" sets to me....

I don't see why anybody would want duplicates of them....

I can see people collecting duplicates of 1 and 2....firing lines....

but 3 and 6...you only need one of them.

Mike,
Great line up! Think that's the most BMs I've ever seen in one place! I'm not envious though (yeah right!)

Pete

Mike,

I can't believe you have that many figures! Your collection definitely blows mine away.

How many BM08's & 09's do you actually have?

Very, very nice.

Darrell

Michael that is a "gorgeous" collection. Looks fantastic.

I am just curious for those that have such large collections, and investments, do you have them insured?

Walt

Michael, thank you for the explanation. I noticed the figure difference but just assumed where there 2 flags, there were 2 sets. Neat story on the spare flag. What a colossal collection. I was fortunate enough to secure a BM-03 from a fellow forum member long after I gave up hope of ever finding one of these hen's teeth. I never have gotten BM01,02 or FM01 but I can live with that. I really wanted that BM03 and it made my year to secure it.:D The wide variation of the sets available in the Monongahela make it a lot of fun to invent or re-enact history. -- Al

Thanks Pete...I answered your PM...you make some good points...

Hi Darrell...thanks...I think I'm going to display mine in the China hutch...similar to yours at your office...with the mirrored back...the forces look double in size...I always loved your collection...I have 6-8's and 8-9's...check out Fraxinus's (Ken)...WOW!!!...

Walt...thanks...that's a good idea...another Hurricane like Ike and I would be crying...I would guess they are covered under "contents" as was everything else on my claim last year...I need to ask my agent...the insurance company replaced by salt water damaged CD's...so I guess the soldiers would qualify....I don't know...

Al...thanks...I was pulling a quickie on the flag (BM03)...hehehehe...

the BM01...I finally got...but it is so similar to BM08 that I could have lived without out...it was just a bonus when I finally found one...

the BM02's are kind of rare...somebody is sitting on a ton of them...

the FM01's...they pop up occasionally...maybe not cheap...but they seem to change hands often...

I may unpack the VM's...WIM's and French today...it's such a pain repacking them...I think they are all going in the China hutch.

The conclusion of the battle...

the French/Indian coalition was decimated forever...

with no trees or coverage...

the traditional European tactic of "firing line" strategy took the day...

Fort Duquense subsequently fell days after...and without it...the FIW was over in a matter of weeks...

Snow Shoes...never happened....

Bushy Run...didn't exist....

Quebec....never came to pass...

St. Francis...there was no call for it...

John Jenkins continued making B of M series for 30 years after that...and we all lived happily ever after...

we were all infinitely richer just collecting this one series...with the Jacobites too...

and that's the way it happened in Galveston, Texas on my dining room table...

Hahahahahaha............told you I was bored....

I will not re-box these...they are going in the China hutch...throw away the Lalique and fine crystal....

ps...not all of these are Battle of Monongahela...there are some K&C off to the side...

Methinks you need a bigger dining table!:)

Now I know where all the Virginia Militia went to. After the battle, they all went to Mike's house for a bar-b-que!;) Again, a most impressive collection of JJD's offerings. I suppose their is a fleet of canoes and whaleboats looking for a body of water to settle matters, as well?:D -- Al

Michael, to say the least that is one very impressive collection. Very very nice indeed.

Mark
