I think pics are missing because I created new files on Photobucket. I will replace them shortly if that is the case. Alex

Wow did I mess up my photos, just trying to organize things. I am never going to do that again. Sorry for the mess.:redface2: Alex

The making of this scene involved all Hobby Bunker inexpensive structures which we painted with $1 craft paint and super detailed. We used artists chalks to "Dust" the vehicles. This "Dust" does come

off. The rubble is ...Well...Rubble. When I was working on the Fire Dept I used to bring a jar with me and collect stuff from fire scenes, then bring it home and chop it up. My men used to think I was

crazy...They got a kick out of it. Then we brought in a backdrop to complete the scene. Actually we tried a few different backdrops.

Maybe you are getting tired of me mentioning this, but the Hobby Bunker buildings are a HUGE bang for the buck and you can put a little of your own talent into it. It is very rewarding, it becomes

something you sort of made yourself. YES we are supported by Hobby Bunker but this advise has nothing to do with that. Look at the buildings for your self and you can see what I mean. You are

talking around $$35 to $50 for most of their buildings. They are a light weight foam and can be easily modified.....I just really think you need to know this !

Here is the last pic from this Dio.................

I am playing with this old color film look. I think it worked best on the bottom pic.

great job Alex...and your "rubble"...is a one of a kind...very creative!

Thanks Mike

I dont know if you read my rubble story elseware.....But when I was a Fire Chief and the fire was over. The Firefighters and Captains would be picking up their hoses and ladders etc, used to fight the fire, I would be collecting burned up rubble from the fire scene. They thought I was nuts and they were hysterical.

This was an excellent mix , I would bring it home and put it in a old food processor I had and out came fantastic rubble. :wink2:

I didn't know you were the Chief...but I had read before that you collected the rubble...I'm a strong advocate of homemade groundwork...I use an old coffee grinder...it will break down common garden dirt to a much better scale for 60mm's...it also works really good on Moss...your blend resembles "scorched earth"...perfect for your diorama...

I know what you are saying about the dirt.....We "Harvest" moss out of Nicks backyard, and put it in some solution Nick came up with to preserve it. It seems to be working so far. We do the same to some weeds to make trees.

I was not THE CHIEF, I was a Battalion Chief in charge of one of the City's 3 Fire Battalions. I really miss being out there as of late in light of NJ's recent storm problems. My old crews are doing a lot of good work out there.

Alex, your street scenes are amazing. So much detail makes it realistic. Great stuff. Chris

Thank you Chris.............We are so happy that so many in the hobby are now enjoying the joys of putting their figures and vehicles in a scene, if we had some small part in inspiring that concept, that gives us geat satisfaction. Alex
