Katana did you say you had a Vs ambush pattern KT? Didn't they screw up literally and put a unwanted or not needed screw in the hull that leaves a big void in the hull when it's removed?

When someone sees an item, likes it and wants to purchase it, they do so.

When someone sees an item, likes it and wants to purchase it, but either a.) Can't afford it, or b.) Can't justify the price tag, they go over it with a fine tooth comb, looking for flaws/issues/reasons NOT to buy it so that at the end of the day, they can walk away and say "It's nice, but it's got too many flaws, so I'll pass"...or should I say "perceived flaws"………….that's great, whatever helps you sleep at night.

I mean no disrespect, but how many times are we going to hear about the shade of green, the exhaust vents or whatever, the machine gun port?

Continually bringing it up is not going to change a thing and please for the love of God, spare me with the "Manufacturers need to know the issues with their tanks"...………….not if the issue is not an actual issue they don't.

If the vast majority of collectors felt the way you do, the tank would not have sold out in three days; that speaks volumes.

When I was a kid, I worked two Summers at my late Uncles Chevrolet dealership.

Can't tell you how many fellas came in looking to buy a corvette or a Z28 and drove out in a stripped down camaro (or worse)……

I pretty well much agree with your post George although as I have said before on another post, I wonder had Figarti brought out a King Tiger earlier or at the same time as FL (or if JJD announced they were releasing one before, the same time or a month after FL), would the FL KT have sold out so quickly, especially if Figarti or JJD (or both) were going to release one at a lower price point?? We will never know of course but my point being that FL was the first manufacturer to release a highly detailed KT in 1/30 scale and despite the high price, I think this was a factor along with the tank looking great in the pic's, the limited number being released and FL having a good reputation in providing a quality product.

The VsTank KT is a Radio Control model with operating features. Turret rotation, gun elevation, track articulation and suspension and drive. The interior must be accessible to maintain the gears. One of the several screws that hold the upper and lower hull together is located in the center of the lower front plate in a recessed hole .187" in diameter. I plug the hole with brown modeling clay, so it is not obvious. Working models have trade offs; functionality versus realism. The working features make the tradeoff acceptable IMO. A photo of the King Tiger is on the General Matte Discussion thread; titled Kingtiger Reloading in the Forest. The price of the VsTank King Tiger was $139.00 when I purchased it several years ago and was one of the most accurate KT models at that time.

Custom built and painted 1/35 and 1/24 scale King Tigers are available from companies like Dream Works that are superior in detail and finish to Toy soldier models and in the same price range i.e. $250 to 500.00 typically. Polystone Toy Soldier models have gradually, over the last five years increased in price to the point where a custom built 1/35 scale model is in the same price range. High quality 1/35 figures are also available.
