On November 17, 2010 I got #6 sets of K&C's (2003) NA 014 French marching infantrymen with muskets at the still bargain retail price of ONLY $21.00 each to add to my "Age of Napoleon" diorama from my local dealer. However, I also picked up #3 new 2010 K&C sets that included set BBG 033 which I added to my "Battle of the Bulge" diorama. This set is a stark reminder of life & death during combat. Please see one photo showing the upper left corner of my 3 x 4 foot dioarama of the Battle of the Bulge and also a close up centered on the new K&C set BBG 033.

I have to say that I received this set by error and am sending it back. It's graphic, well cast, original and authentic. Just nothing I want to look at. If the shoe was on the other foot (please excuse the dire pun) I'd probably feel the same way. Having said that my dioramas need more casuLties. My D-day guys look immortal.

Nice pics and a great scene Iron Brigade:cool:. That is indeed possibly the most graphic casualty figure K&C have done so far, it brings home the reality of War and the price paid in my view. I know folks are divided on dead and wounded figures but I feel they add depth and realism to a scene.

I have the real photograph , a captured German photograph taken in December 1944 in the village of Murringen in the Belgian Ardennes. I can tell you the resemblance between the K&C casualty figure and the casualties in the photograph is stiking.

Yes K&C really have the knack of nailing realism in this range as no other company can, just look at the 'Crossing the road' set or the new single figure in greatcoat striding forward, great likeness to photographs from the Battle:cool:

That is a great set up mate!:D:cool::eek:
Love the 2 columns of Germans!:D

Anyone notice how the German from the new 'New Boots' set looks a bit larger than all the rest of the figures?:eek::confused:

Or is it just a funny angle that I am looking at!:D

BOB is a great series. The BBG 033 is a very poignant piece. I have mixed feeleings about it. Desecrating a body in any way is offensive to my sensibilities however we all know war is savage and people will do anything to survive. The piece depicts what commonly occurs on all sides and it is modelled very well. I'm not sure I'd want to view it everyday in my home but I can see how it would work in a diorama. Juries still out for me on purchasing it.

Dear "arnhem44mad":

I just got K&C set BBG 033 on Nov. 17, 2010 & I set it up on my Battle of the Bulge diorama soon after I got back home with it. And yes I do have to say that the German soldier figure at least looks bigger than the other German figures shown nearby in the first of the two photos I posted for this "BBG 033 Thread" I started late on November 17. Perhaps the figure represents a taller than average German soldier or perhaps it is just the big over coat he has on? Thanks for your other comments as well.

Looks a really excellent set up and the guy getting new boots just adds to what its all about military realism in miniature and these things happened

No bother, thanks a lot for clearing that up!:DThe angle you have taken the pictures from make it look like a forward recon photo of a German group!

Great set up. As far as BBG 033? As far as I am concerned, it is a must have.

GREAT dio and pictures. Looks like this set is going to have to be added to my (ever growing) 'buy list'.

Dear "Arnhem44mad":

Just this late morning I looked at my new K&C set# BBG 033 again. And I perhaps determined the main reason that the German soldier figure of this set looked a bit "too big". On the display table of about 3 x 4 feet I previously had play box sand across the entire table that was used for a prior diorama. When I later used this table for my Battle of the Bulge diorama I just left the sand and dropped fake snow over everything except for the areas representing roadways. Alas, when I placed the German figure of the BBG 033set I forgot to "seat" the base of the figure into the sand all the way to make contact with the surface of the table. I have now done this and it now looks at least 1/8 of an inch shorter! Therefore, do not hesitate to buy this new K&C set# BBG 033, it will match up fine with other current K&C sets.

Best regards, "Iron Brigade"
