Beach Front Assault (1 Viewer)

I've been trying a few different techniques to photograph my USMC. This morning I used a beach mat with backdrop to capture this shot. What do you guys think?

Very impressed by these figures. Great facial expression.

It looks good! The water backdrop may be a bit too sparse in scenery for it, but the angle of the mat makes it look as though he could be on Iwo Jima or somewhere similar. A lot of the photos I've seen show Marines hitting a pretty steep incline almost immediately after leaving their landing craft.

Looks good, I remember reading somewhere that several of the beaches closer to Japan had Dark coloured sand, but wonder if that would look 'right' on dioramas.

Okay, you nailed that one, Rob. ^&grin

I like that ocean back drop. If you can "photoshop" a few Navy Transports and Battleships into the photo, that would be incredible.

Also, the mat works well, ... as "off the beach" many Pacific islands had long beach grass and ground cover.
