I was listening to some old Van Halen today (David Lee Van Halen that is) and fondly remembering back in 84 seeing them in Richmond doing the "84" tour, hands down the best concert I ever attended, and probabley the best after party as well:smile2:...Sammy

Foe me it would be a toss up between Madonna or Michael Jackson both in the 80's at the height of there careers. AMAZING !!! The sheer size of the crowd was something esle. I think Madonna had about 79,000 and the MJ was about 85,000

It was crazy but they both put on great shows.

Big Country were good live but the best were The Specials last year in London , and I saw Fleetwood Mac last year as well :smile2:

Some of the best concerts I have been to have been at smaller venues OMD, Gary Numan. larger shows I would say Oasis

I have always like Oasis, just to bad they hate each other, or has that changed?...Sammy

Oh my Rob, I'll have to jump into Peabody's wayback machine to remember that group!!^&grin...Sammy

Have seen many groups, although it's been a few years. Fleetwood Mac was great, as were Elton John and Rod Stewart (both seen in the early 70's). The Rolling Stones were a highlight and very good. Favorite all-time was Peter Gabriel. Saw him several times and was never disappointed. He is a fantastic performer. -- Al

Springsteen Then!, Springsteen Now!, Springsteen Forever! Bruce...........!!!

Should also put in a word for Live Aid, that was a great gig to be at, more an event than a concert.

1.Status Quo, October 1977, Hammersmith Odeon. I've never seen such a stunning performance from a powerful Rock band in all my life. Their stage presence and the effect on their legendary fanatical fans was something that will stay with me forever.Thousands of Denim clad young men came to create a huge blue wave of adoration the likes of which I've never seen since. Simply stunning and I was partially deaf for days!.

Here's a pic from the very first seconds of that very gig all those years ago as the mighty Quo belt out Caroline, and thousands of the faithful go berserk!:salute::^&cool

There always someone who has to lower the tone Rob Status Quo my mum go to watch them :p^&grin lol

That would have been amazing !! I remember watching it on the telly, we were in Germany at the time. My brother bought it for me a couple Christmases ago on DVD. Still a great watch.

Was a wonderful day, the sun beat down and it really did feel like the whole world was 'Rocking All over the World' :salute:: .

I'm not talking the Quo of today Neil, they are a pale shadow of the Quo of the mid seventies when they were quite simply one of the most powerful, energetic stage bands ever.
