Bishop Vs The Baron (2 Viewers)

Very nice again, Alex.
What car model did you use with the display?
Is it a diecast model that you have weathered?
Cheers!

I got the car on Ebay and I believe it is a diecast model from Motormint, which we weathered.

Also I would l would like to note that Billy Bishop and The Baron would not have faced each other in these particular aircraft, but they were the only aircraft available by JJD for these pilots so we took some creative license and had some fun with it. Alex

This is a fantastic close-up that shows the Nieuport to great advantage. Some of the fine detail on the Bishop figure is evident, as well . Very sharp. -- Al

Alex, these shots are terrific. They just keep getting better. I know the background tripes (at least I think) are in black and white, but the shot gives an excellent indication of why Richthofen picked red as the color for his aircraft. It is highly visible and could not be mistaken for any other aircraft, either by his own men or the enemy, in the heat of a dogfight. Also gives a good idea of how Bishop operated on many occasions, one against many. Like many of the 'lone wolf' type aces, Bishop didn't much care about the odds against him. -- Al

Alex, really cool idea and well executed. Lots of fun!

MISSED!

Der Rotekampflieger missed? Mein Gott! Alex, I really like the angles you use for these photos. The Nieuport and it's fine construction details are superbly highlighted. JJD's models really lend themselves well to this kind of close up scrutiny. Again, nice work. -- Al

A fantastic shot at a fantastic angle. Just like a scene from "Hell's Angels". Alex, I hope you are having as much fun setting these scenes up and shooting them as I am viewing them. These dogfight sequences are just top-notch, equal to anything I have seen done by any artist. -- Al

My friend Nick and I share mostly all aspects of what we do in this hobby....But I do the photography, effects and general layout of most of our scenes.....

When we are compensated for building a scene for a collector etc. We are VERY reasonable, because our main objective is to help them enjoy the hobby more.

When we do it for fun, and a collector enjoys our efforts it is priceless to us. Alex

Just an observation on the last photo, with Bishop closing on the Baron's six, the combination of the quality of the set-up/lighting in the photo and the quality of the model make it seem like it would be possible to thump the fabric side of the Nieuport with one's fingers. It just looks that real. Does that make sense? -- Al

I just kept working with the photo and I achieved that texture which looked good to me, yet it was unlike the previous photos.

Very nice, moody shot. We do know that the Baron escaped only to meet his fate against Snoopy over the Somme. ^&grin -- Al
