Blaster Collection (1 Viewer)

Was dusting off my collection and decided to show some pieces in this thread. Previous photos from the various threads could have been better....

converted Verlinden fig from 1/35 to 1/32.

Toysoldier Bastion? conversion. bought from Nottinghill gate toy vendor. Lancs Fusilier Drummer is Newton Gibbs kit conversion with dried flowers.

more pix to share. Ive discovered a simple black sheet of paper placed against a chair backing with the model placed on the lower part makes for a simple photo shoot without fuss.

ive selected some WW2 pieces to share in honour of the dday anniversary.

two olde figures made many years back. no immediate plans to upgrade them.

chota sahib wren and ara miniaturens capt clark gable. looking back, that wren setting is freudian, with clark gable leering at the prospects...haHAHA

american civil war firing line vignette. based on an oop dragon 1/32 kit, i substituted shenandoah heads which had better detail as well as wolf miniatures guns.

a11.jpga12.jpg

roustam was a converted historex kit. the kit supplied a negroid head but i read that roustam was a georgian, so i resculpted the head.

marshal andre massena was a converted new hope design kit. i exaggerated his stoop and rebulit the lower part. semi-finished, still have to add his sword.

a16.jpga18.jpg

egmont n hornes was a conversion adding two separate figures together. why the original makers cafestorme/mokarex didnt do this in the first place is a mystery to me as the figs were obviously based on a twinned sculpture of them.

a19,jpg.jpga20.jpg

isabella n ferdinand. a beneito miniatures converted kit. a poorly produced kit. the figs seem to have been sculpted by two different persons. isabella is great but too tall. ferdinand was terrible and had to be resculpted in all areas. at that time, this was a postal order and there was no way of determining the quality.

papua new guinea huli dancer. one of my favourite pieces. fully scratchbuilt. i rebased it in 2015 onto this unusual base and built up parts of it to create a tropical setting.

a22.jpga23.jpga24.jpg

roman centurion, an ek fig conversion. these are 60mm figs with good value but always with suspect dimensions. the centurion had to have his cloak built up to create bulk. otw, the front details were good.

a26.jpga27.jpga28.jpg

caraussius roman emperor, an ek fig conversion. i modified the standard pole which was just too thick [and looked ridiculous] with a thinner pole.

a29.jpga31.jpg

andrea std bearer. a prolific and dominant manufacturer then. the std pole was cast in metal which was substituted with a brass wire for rigidity.

a.jpga2.jpg

andrea roman legionaire. i tried a different paint scheme and selected a shield design away from the usual lightning bolts. the tunic was painted green instead of the usual red.

a3.jpga4.jpg

another andrea roman. the simple single piece casting showed an obvious solid casting and i masked this with a spare shield to represent some nautical unit. the poorly designed step base was enhanced with historex spares.

a5.jpg

marcus aurelius/ an italian kit. modified the overlarge head and i drilled out an undercut in the tunic to fit the legs inside.

a8.jpga9.jpg

chota sahib celtic std bearer. brass tubing was substituted for the pole.
