Hi Guys,

Here is the full view of the “TARAWA” display diorama that K&C will be presenting at the ‘CHICAGO SHOW’.

If you look closely you will see not only our first release of U.S. Marines but also some of our upcoming second release figures.

In addition, you can see, for the first time, KING & COUNTRY’S ’LVT-(A)1 ALLIGATOR’ which will be supporting the ‘Leathernecks’ in their battle against the well-entrenched Japanese opposition.

Looking forward to meeting up with some of you lads at the show...

Drop by Room 4301 to see this diorama and a whole lot more!

See you soon,
Andy

That's one tough alligator, plenty of fire power. Nice addition to this beach dio which looks tremendous. Robin.

Wow, although the Pacific is not my kettle of fish, an amazing diorama full of action.
guy:)

The water effect is great, with the things up and down the water{sm3}{sm3}

THAT ... is the BEST diorama that I have seen, amidst all the fantastic dioramas that you, Gordon and the team has produced.
Some much to look at and so incredible packed with details.
A true visual feast for the eyes.

I am really excited about this new and wonderful series; as I have been hoping to see a revisit to the US Marines for years.
My orders are all ready in for the first lot and chomping at the bit to see them in Chicago. The Alligator looks great with a couple heading to Maine when released. The future is looking good for me.

Now, I have my dream series all coming true... Pacific USMC's; Japanese Navel Carrier planes and figures; Boyington and his sheep, Japanese ground troops and aircraft; US Navy WWII starting out ... wow!{sm3}

Did I say I was was excited. {sm4}{sm4}

You gotta' open up the K&C room early as I will be camping out in front of your door!

Thankyou Larry and many thanks Guys for your very supportive comments on this latest 'Chicago' display/diorama...Every Year we try to come up with something we have never done before..

So, a beach scene like this one with partially submerged vehicles and lots of discarded weapons and equipment all over the place is a particularly good example.

Many years ago K&C realised that at shows like 'Chicago' and elsewhere most Dealers did not have the space or the time to display our figures and fighting vehicles the way we wanted them to be seen. That's not to blame the Dealers...Just a fact of life.

Virtually all dealers also sell multiple brands and that means they cannot (and do not) focus on just King & Country which again is understandable from their point of view...That's why we come to shows like 'Chicago' to, I hope, inspire the collector with our displays and drive sales towards those dealers who have brought K&C product to the show.

Thankyou all, once more, for your appreciation of our combined efforts.
And, if you want to get an even better look at 'Dunkerque 1940'...'Tarawa 1943' and much, much more...Come to Chicago next week!!!

All the best and happy collecting, Andy.

USMC AFV..PTO..Marines averse to White Stars on any vehicle side.Army apparently didn't care (NO Army at Tarawa)
No Ma-Deuce on M4s(Japs overrun tank..turn .50 cal. on us!After Tarawa..wood sideboards on tanks..wire mesh/spikes on
all tank hatches..rear deck sandbagged or cluttered with..?..wading vents in vogue throughout,some..rear vent facing ..rear.
Flamethrowing Stuarts & Shermans & LVTs would be a nice touch here as well(after Tarawa)
Add Co.60mm mortar teams,rifle grenadiers/satchel charge vols(?!!),37mm guns & crews/75mm How & crew,
'97 Winchester shot gun folk/2mag pouch on M1 carbines/armed Hospital Corpsmen(2 aide bags & some w/3 canteens),
late war Jarheads not fans of leggings, need MANY WIA/KIA poses (some in clumps..War is Hell)for Marines & Japs.
1919 Brownings w/carrying handles(maybe the"Stinger" model used at Iwo!)
And quickly 'movable' multiple rocket launchers ............tracked or wheeled conveyance would be groovy too.
I get this 'deja vu' tingling here.Have I posted all or much of this previously?!
Naaah.

Eddie Albert from the Green Acres comedy show and the Longest Day movie was at Tarawa. I think he was a landing craft driver.

Andy, Looks like those stopping by the K&C room in Chicago will have a lot of great things to see and drool at !

Andy your fantastic diorama, instantly reminds me of the terrifying beach landing scene from the brilliant 'Pacific' series.

Great to see K&C pushing into the Pacific again.:salute::

Many thanks 'DK'for the kind words...Also for posting that terrific clip from 'The Pacific'...I love that series and it was very inspirational in the design and planning stage of this range of Marines and the diorama.
All the best, Andy.
