Hi All,
I received my pre-production sample of the 3rd ACW Blue&Gray set and I am very happy with it. I took a few pictures and thought I would share them with you.
The first one shows set #2 and the new set #3 used on my ACW cornfield base.

This image incorporates a couple other ACW sculpts I did over the past few years...

For those of you that may have missed it before, here is a picture of the set right after I finished it.

When I get a chance I will take a couple of other pictures.

All the Best,
Ken

A slightly different grouping... Most of the figures I sculpted for W. Britain...1 figure for ONWTC and 1 for Conte. Anyone out there pick those last two out?

Blue & Gray set #3 . . .. . very nice looking and will certianly be added to my collection . . . . put me down for one. The wounded Reb is ONTC and the Iron Brigade dead is Conte . . . .

Good eyes Mike! You are right about those two figures... I often use figures I sculpted from these two manufactures in my photographs for extra poses.

I think we are are all lucky (ACW collectors) with W. Britains commitment to the continued development of their ACW collection. I know that this period is dear to both Richard Walker and I and I have to admit that I enjoy working on all of these sets. This September will be eight years of ownership by 1st Gear and I have been very fortunate to have worked with them from day one.
It would be pretty easy to do almost nothing but Civil War figures, but that would be unfair and unwise for the overall catalog offering. My next favorite range is the Classic Gloss Redcoat and I wish I could add a significant number of new poses and regiments to that range too... many of my men need officers, colours or musicians!

I thought I would post a picture of the first two Blue & Gray sets together until I have time to compose a new set up with all three sets. By the way, looking at my own photographs I guess I have a few favorite Federals in the collection as I use them more that I thought in my set ups. This may change with the next few releases however...more later.

I hope you enjoy!

Not my era of interest or choice but, they do look stunning. I always prefer seeing unpainted sets and masters. very interesting
