Bob Walker Collection, Part Deux (1 Viewer)

Dave, John, Mitch, and Al---thanks for your comments. I am going to bring up the earlier thread on Bob's collection for those of you who didn't see it before or who would like to check it out again. To repeat, the photos in each thread are separate and apart and not duplicated in the other thread.

Some Russian themed displays.

Hi Jeff,

It is quite a collection, indeed. I have seen it at least a dozen times and continually find something I had over looked before. It is some times hard to see the trees because of the size of the forest. The battleship is one of a kind and very impressive in person. I can't even keep up with dust on my measly collection, so I am not sure how Bob manages.

I will be driving Bob to Ed Ruby's this Saturday to see Ed's collection again. I'll try and take some pictures of it and post them under a new thread.

Bob has a very impressive Lucotte collection, too. I don't have any Lucotte in my collection; I always considered them to be expensive Mignot-like figures which I also do not collect. Bob picked up a large number of rare Lucotte sets featuring Imperial German regiments. He had a special case made to display them. I am sorry, but I don't which regiments are represented here, but they are very attractive, in any case. I bet the Baron could probably identify many of them.

Your welcome Jeff. I have to agree about the Lucotte figures being charming; I've grown to like them, but I am glad I didn't start collecting them because they are so darn expensive. I wish I knew which German states the various sets represent Those are some attractive uniforms.

On post number 16, there are two photos of some of the reference binders that Bob has compiled. I said he had hundreds. I asked him today, how many he actually had, he said he had more than 420!

The first photo is Bob talking with Frank Cooper. The second is Frank, who is of Danish descent, wearing a Danish helmet with Danish and Belgian toy soldiers behind him. Actually, I am not too fond of his taste in T-Shirts. Lucotte cavalry. The Conte Roman Galley in its custom display case. Courtney knights and others.

I am particularly fond of the Greek Phalanx which Bob cast and painted himself. Unbelievably, each of the 100 or so Greeks is a unique figure with a different shield. Hiriart Imperial German Lieb Garde and Totenkopf Husaren. Large-scale wooden figures. Large-scale Drum Horses.
