Wessex are no longer in business correct? Does Dorset hold these moulds? I would mind getting a hold of Zulu sets 7, 8 & 9.

I have the Wessex 17th Lancers ,both 3 man sets. They are easily my favorite soldiers. Dorset's versions are not as detailed in painting and are somewhat smaller than the originals. I have Dorsets Zulu War mounted infantry and they are plain and smaller. Will try to get photos posted..Michael

Scott, I'm glad that you saw my post as I know you had expressed an interest in the Wessex Zulu series. I just bought my first Wessex set, but have yet to receive it. They are the Kngs Royal Rifle (Zulu 3). You can refer to Martyn's previous post for a pic of the set.

I'm mainly a Boer War glossy guy. As this last purchase confirms, I getting drawn in by you Zulu and Sudan glossy collectors.

I'll be darned. Sudan #3 Egyptian infantry set. I have that same set and never knew it was Wessex. I bought it from Ebay under mfg. unknown. I now have 2 sets from Wessex..woo,woo! Michael

Michael, The set I am getting is old stock from the 80's-90's era. Check out post #19 in THIS thread as to how to obtain a new set in the Wessex line from Andrew Rose.

Scott, this is a original painted boxed set. It's Wessex (Zulu 3) Kings Royal Rifle Corps. There's a pic of the set in Martyn's previous postings in this thread. It consists of 8 fgures advancing, officer, bugler and 6 at the trail.
