Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (6 Viewers)

Carlos,

I was just admiring your work again - I love the 'clutter' you use, the small cart, seats tables stowage etc - what do you use?

Wished you'd become bored more often. What a real nice way to start off the New Year. Not having seen the figures that appeared in your photos I found them quite appealing. I wish someone would provide the same quality of figures depicting the Zulu War. Please keep us entertained throught the coming year and have an great New Year..........Joe

For John Gambale......can't remember which ones I posted so sorry if any repeats:eek:

:DCould everyone please stop posting pics of North Africa dios???:D

All these great pics are pushing me towards the WW2 North Africa side!!!!! I have trouble getting to sleeo at night, and I need sleep for my schooling!!!!

Seriously I really like the new North Africa pieces Andy made!!!! But I have to pace myself for.....ARNHEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Who else is really, really, really, really, really, really excited about the new Arnhem range coming out??????????:D

Panda1gen, Please continue posting your photos I've enjoyed viewing your work and who cares from time to time their a repeat, I haven't seen them and I'm sure others may not have and by the way Happy New Year...Joe

Thanks for the compliments guys. I love doing this and especially like your dioramas of your collections. It sure is fun isn't it?

I agree with you The Lt., it's too bad there wasn't more recent releases of the Zulu Wars.

panda1gen, The clutter in my diorama is inspired by the chaos of battle and the destruction to order among the more deadly consequences obviously. Specifically, most of the material I use is everything from moss from art stores to misc. stuff from everyday life. Specifically, the chair and the chart are from pieces that were included in some FOV Diorama tank sets (e.g. Tiger I) and most of the debris and sandbags are from various Build-A-Rama offerings.

I hope that helps and keep the entertainment coming or I mean pictures coming.

Carlos

And how do you do the tarpaulin covers on the vehicles?

Carlos, those deuce and a half tarps look fantastic, are they cloth or molded plastic or some other material? I don't see them listed on the B-A-R web site, are they special order? Sorry for all the questions and thanks again for the great photos, looks like you really enjoy your collection.:)

Fred

Thanks Fred and panda1gen,

I really do enjoy my collection. Tarps can be special ordered through Build-A-Rama. Just contact him and let him know what you have in my mind.

The tarp material, well I'm collector not a builder so I'm not sure what they are made of but what I can tell you is that they aren't plastic.

Carlos

Sorry guys I didn't realize that when I posted in the How To Thread that it would also appear in the Diorama Section. How can I avoid it from happening in the future...........Joe Great photos Guys

I thought I'd read how these were made on this forum a few months back.

I may be wrong, but I thought it was layers of tissue paper, soaked in diluted PVA glue (or similar) and shaped on to the frame of the vehicle, then allowed to dry.

I may have read it somewhere else but....

In my WWII days when I was into Military Modeling building various kits by TAMIYA I used a heavy duty facial tissue and coated with Elmers Glue slightly deluted with water then shaping it and found when try it painted up well every time creating the effect I wanted. Also used in for makeing rolled up tarps tie with string .............the Lt.
