Excellent shots, capture the effect well - is that an HJB sdkfz 250 command half track I see? I like those a lot!

Its a HJB, and I managed to squeeze three K&C tankers in
I finally figured out how to resize the photos so I'll post a bigger one:)

Why did they build the pontoon if the bridge was still intact? Was it damaged and they fear it might collapse? What’s the story here? :)

Trying to REALLY expedite the process of the retreat:)- can move twice as many men and material twice as fast on 2 bridges.

Great stuff!!! GREAT to see some Eastern Front work.

Redhugh, great pics, nice job on the narration also. I would agree with CC, trying to get them across as fast as possible.:)

The bridge had been sabotaged earlier that year and a pontoon bridge erected, the engineers had just finished repairing the stone bridge which can carry heavier vechicles like the stug , and had yet to dismantle the pontoon. With the germans forces in retreat and the last few stragglers crossing over, a reargaurd is trying to hold back the ruskies while the panicked german sappers blow both bridges up to stall the red tide :D

The last picture is the grobdeutschland peeling off from the main blitkreig into russia, to encircle russian forces caught behind the main push. Moscow was to fall in 6 weeks ...or so everybody thought....:)

RedHuge: Very nice diorama and pictures. I like the bridges and the troops repairing and crossing the bridges. Neat scene. Leadmen
