Much to my horror it seems that next Monday nights episode of Boston Legal is the last of the series.
Have always enjoyed the show. Whilst some of the plot lines were a bit silly there were many that were thought provoking. Shatner and Spader excellent and very good supporting cast.
Will be sad to see the last one.
Does anybody know if there will be a spin off series or what Shatner will do next (perhaps series on retired lawyer in retirement home !).
Regards
Brett

I don't think Denny Crane would ever retire... he'd probably die of boredom! I know I'll miss Alan Shore & Denny Crane.
:D

I'm not sure if William Shatner will continue working, after all, he's in his 70's and very rich. He has given up Star Trek movies already, that probably means he wants to retire.

Cheers...

All 5 seasons are now out on DVD here in the states. This was a show that made you both laugh and think. Unfortunately ABC killed it and only did a half season for the last year. The finale ending is very satisfying.
Denny Crane: "Sleep Over Allen?"

Who can forget?

Word Salad
Mad Cow
Fear of Clowns
Lennon Sisters
Flamingos
You're a real hoot
Oprah
Shocking
Outrageous
Coast Guard Auxilliary
Utility Box and Clock Radio
Wooden Cigarette

There is no question it will be missed. The Shatner and Spader dynamics were among the best you will ever see in a TV series and nearly ever episode was good for some great humor at several levels. We don't watch much TV but we were throughly hooked on this one. Yes it could be silly, preachy and the producers politics were often amusingly (and bluntly) on display but none of that mattered. When the going got tough there was always Al Sharpton.:rolleyes::D It will be a real classic and if Shatner retires, it will be a fitting tribute to his craft. Now what is Spader going to do now?

Brad Chase: I outrank you.
Alan Shore: And I'm such a sl*t for authority.

Denny Crane: You hear the one about the fella who died, went to the pearly gates? St. Peter let him in. Sees a guy in a suit making a closing argument. Says, "Who's that?" St. Peter says, "Oh, that's God. Thinks he's Denny Crane."

Alan Shore: [addressing a Canadian court] Oh, yes, mindful that abroad people tend to expect shock and awe when Yankees arrive on the scene, we shall leave you with two small but lasting words.
Denny Crane: Denny Crane, eh?

Alan Shore: [referring to a book about parasites found on salmon] This book, "A Stain Upon The Sea" it's all about these sea lice.
Denny Crane: Interesting.
Alan Shore: They call them cling ons.
Denny Crane: Did you say Klingons?

Denny Crane: It's okay; I'm an ex-Marine. I was a trained sniper. Or was I a pilot? I can't remember. Anyway, I'm more of a skeet shooter now, so when I say 'pull,' you're going to open that door.
Tara Wilson: You're insane!
Denny Crane: Pull!

Ah the memories.....LOCK AND LOAD.;):D

Neat photos Randy. I am going to miss Boston Legal. I wish they would reconsider the show but I see the networks are cutting dramas and going to the stupid reality shows which are cheap to make. I am becoming hooked on the new show Unusuals about NY cops. I find the show interesting and quirky. John

I really enjoyed Boston Legal, but it must be difficult to come up with interesting story lines week after week.

Some of the shows became lame, which caused me to lose interest then only watching it on occasion.

I'm sorry to hear it was cancelled, I guess they just ran out of crazy stories.

Maybe we can get Honour Bound to make it as a Treefrog special:D

Randy

If we do, I'm preordering mine now!
:D

Say, what are the chances they'll include Shirley (Candice Bergen) dressed as a cheer leader in this set?
;)

Cheers...

Almost all the stories were actual and factual.

A common theme of the show was national current events.

Most were taken from real headline news, and pretty current stuff too.

The episode of the millionaire (transvestite/cross dresser) that severed the body and threw the headless torso in the river........was Ron Durst from Galveston Island, my home town.

The episode of the abducted children from New Orleans evacuees, was from Galveston also.

But honestly, could they ever run out of stories, ..........ever!

I mean, just read the "police beat" or "local crime" section of any newspaper, any day, in any city, and

BAM!!!!!!

you got a new episode.

Heck, just follow the Galveston crime scene and you got a season's worth, lol.:eek::eek:

Actually as some other posts have indicated, it was cut b/c of expense plain and simple. Networks would rather make cheap reality or just plain cheap horrid shows. This was such an outrageous decision, this show was actually a really good show, made you think, laugh, cry, etc. It was one of the best I have ever seen and I loved Denny Crane!~

Another show that died an early death for the same reasons, Dirty Sexy Money with Sutherland, Baldwin, et al. Too much money to make, not as good as Boston Legal, but Donald Sutherland makes any show.

Love the earlier photo, that would be a great set!!!!

I am still waiting for my Kelly's Heroes Sherman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm afraid we are going to see a lot more good shows leave as the big networks are losing more viewers every year as more and more people expand their viewing habits to the cable stations and DVD's.The networks say that the big money stars on TV are going to have to take pay cuts or will be dropped entirely due to the dwindling viewership and the economy. This is not good for us as the quality of the shows have gotten much better the last few years.Let me make clear that I mean the overall quality, there are still some bad shows out there.I for one will not watch trailer park reality shows nor will I watch Jay Leno type shows everynight.

Reality shows suck imo and only a fool would believe they are not contrived and scripted. Sad to say there are no shortage of fools in tv viewer land

I remember a few years back when they made a series of "Survivor" in Australia, it was filmed only a short distance from a major tourist area with all the usual Hollywood style catering and comforts.

I found Boston Legal a refreshingly different show but not something that I scheduled to watch by any means. Shatner really shined in that role and I feel he is much better at comedy than anything else.

William Shatner seems to be a very fummy man. During the classic Star Trek series he played Captain James T Kirk tongue in cheek, which is something most trekkies I know don't realise. Sometimes during a dramatic confrontation against an evil entity from outer space, we can see he's hardly able to avoid laughing!
:D:D

Reminds me of Adam West playing Batman. Another classic form the 60's I love.

Cheers...

Yes, I think Shatner is a smarter guy than many believe and I suspect he soon got bored with the Kirk role and hammed it up a bit too much like Tom Baker did in the later stories of the Fourth Doctor Who - he was really making a "meal" of those jelly babies :D
